Nothing out there yet but according to Lebron he had an MRI and xray on it earlier in the week and neither showed any issues.

From his description it sounds like he has tweeked a nerve which would seem to be something that he can overcome with regular treatment. Considering they have 3 off days I would expect him to be feeling OK by Saturday.

Question is does it matter? If his elbow hurts his jump shot doesn't that just mean he'll be going to the rim more often?

MRI reveals no damage:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A ... bronselbow

X-rays and an MRI taken on Monday showed no obvious structural damage, but clearly something is wrong with James’ elbow, which he has covered recently with a padded, protective sleeve.

“I don’t know, honestly, what’s going on with it,” James said after finishing one assist shy of a triple-double in Game 5. “I’ve done tests to try and figure this thing out, but it almost feels like you hit your funny bone and it kind of numbs up for a little bit.

“It bothers me more because I don’t actually know what it is. We’ll figure it out. I’ve never had a problem with my elbow before.”

Thank you for the link Swerbster. Good news is everything is structuraly "sound" which means stability is not an issue.

Based on what I read at the Holiday Inn Express this is a neurological issue = funny bone. He suffered a contusion to the nerve or neuropraxia. There is no magic wand to heal the "insult"..rest mainly. Some modalitites "claim" to be speed up nerve healing but it is much more complicated than say a tendonitis, bursitis, or synovitis.

He will really have to be wrapped & braced for when we take on the "thugs" from Beantown.

PDcavsinsider: In technical terms it is a "bone bruise of his olecranon." In lay terms, it means he banged his elbow and it is sore.

PDcavsinsider: LeBron should be fine unless he takes another direct hard hit. Based on history, I'm sure the Celtics will play cleanly and avoid it

He is simply coming up with something to use as an excuse if they don't get it done and win the title. The guy is a one-man wrecking ball, freak of nature, won't be anything that will keep him away from wanting to single-handedly destroy the Celtics, which is what I am afraid of (multiple LeIsos).

Anyone want to post an over/under on guys who get flagrant fouls in this series?

The Truth. I remain really surprised that the national media has not really seemed to catch on to his drama queen side.

They would if he played in a big market. Prolly will when he spurns them, too.
Maybe they'll turn on him.

Anyway, to Donnie Walsh, et al: this elbow thing means he is damaged goods- better stay away. However, feel free to extend the dismantling of your team for another 3 yrs.

Using this thread to keep discussions on LeElbow and LeEffects of LeEbow...

Assuming he is hurt and it is affecting his finely tuned jumper... LeBron's path to glory now lies in him adjusting his game and finding other ways to be effective. That would include bringing enthusiasm and effort and redefining his game mid-stream as possibly a facilitator, match-up exploiter, primarily a driver, or whatever else is necessary.

We all believe he's the best the league. The best player in the game makes it happen, he finds a way. It's daunting, it's a challenge, and it's up to him to solve the puzzle and leave it all on the court.

The Cleveland Fan in me thinks that for all the adulation and glory, he owes us all he's got. If I see an ounce of quit or reluctance to adjust mentally, it's a slap in the face. Maybe I should have used LeLedge in there somewhere. Go Cavs.

I want to see some flagrants on Rondo.

IMO, Shaq will have done his job if ALL he does is put Rondo's ass on the ground twice like he did in game one, and then sits.

Sorry, know this was supposed to be about LeElbow

From basketbawful:

"Of course, everybody is making such a huge deal about King Crab's elbow...meanwhile, a 36-year-old dude with a chronic back ailment and a bum hip is killing the Spurs. Maybe Steve's whole body needs a Twitter page like LeBron's elbow."

LeBron participated in a contact practice Thursday and said his elbow felt fine. Color me extremely skeptical. But I expect he'll put up a 3-pointer early in the game tonight to try and make the Celtics think he's OK.

By the way, Pluto pointed out that the Celtics have won six of their last seven playoff series, and the one they lost was last year in seven games to Orlando with Garnett out. This is a very good team the Cavs are up against, and they seem to be peaking at the right time.
