What Wicked Foods Have You Lived Off Of?

Unread postby waborat » Sun May 02, 2010 3:22 pm

Everybody's been there at some point in their life...

Whether you were just lazy, in a hurry or broke, what unhealthy foods were you an expert with?

From my high school thru college thru single life it had to be:

Hot Pockets: 3 minutes in the Nuker and I had a party in my mouth everytime...Friggin loved it when I'd come home drunk and forget to let them cool only to have blisters on my tongue for days

&

Ramen Noodles w/Potato Chips: Got tired of eating the same old starch so one night I decided to pour a bag of Ruffles in them and wa-la, instant potato soup

Dairyman's iced tea. 16-19yo I drank a gallon every afternoon playing pick up hoops for 4 hours. Still drink a gallon per week now.

In college it was Ramen soup, saltines, pringles, and TV dinners.

when wabo mentioned hot pockets, I instantly thought of Gaffigan. He is one of my favorite comics.

That Gaffigan Hot Pockets routine is excellent. Heard it for the first time on Rawdog a couple weeks back.

Ramen noodles, Milwaukees Best Light. Full and drunk all week for like $5 a day. I remember mixing the powder packets to try and break up the monotony with the Ramen noodles. With the Beast, for about 3-4 years, it was simple. Buy a 12 pack for $3.79. Bong the first 4-5. Drink the rest. Hard now to think that I would drink a full 12 pack of beer at least 5 times a week. Body so god damn resilient from ages 18-24. I think back now at what I did to it for damn near a decade and shudder.

Good memories.

Totally spaghetti-os, 4-5 cans a week from the ages of about 6-10. Drank more Tang than I can remember as well.

Spaghetti-O's are money. It's like they put some kind of really pathetic and cheap Italian seasoning in the one with meatballs and it's delicious. Love the hot dogs in there too.

Totino's Pizza Rolls are another gem. The combination ones to be exact.

Five cheese white Stouffer's French Bread Pizzas are good.

Chalk up another one to Ramen. Just had some last night. I'm spoiled cause I have this and you guys didn't, but Easy Mac is good.

Anyone remember the old Act II french fries in the microwave box? They had one in a square red box and then they had another box where they came standing up in a grid-like box. I used to dip them in gravy as a kid.

Now, there's these:

I was pretty much a latchkey kid, divorced parents at early age. From roughly 3rd grade I was left alone to send myself off to school, return home for lunch and after school to an empty house. So I was responsible for making my own lunch everyday (hell I was doing laundry at age 9). Anyhow at that age you'll understandably lock yourself out of the house a few times a year, I did and would have to get my friend (much smaller than me) to climb through my milk chute b/c I couldn't fit. Spaghetti-Os were so good that sometimes he would get inside, microwave a can real quick and eat it before letting me in.

That little fucker.

Worked at the pretzel shop at Kennedy Union at UD. Ate 3-4 free pretzels a day for several months and little else. Drank beast out of kegerator when thirsty. Pretzels were actually retwisting themselves in my toilet. It was pretty amazing. ;-) ;)
