Time off is good and important, to a point. IMO the ideal time off is 3 days, 4 tops. That gives you time to get right physically and yet you are not so far removed from the need for day to day routine that it takes you a whole game to get it all back.

It's funny that the ZenMaster complained about Durrant getting calls from officials. Firstly, he coached the player for whom the tactic was coined the "Jordan treatment." Now he has Kobe. With the game tied (or at least tight) in the last minutes, Kobe backs his player over (no call on the clear charge) and then gets a ticky-tack call 2 seconds later for an and-one. Game over.

I was going to call this a classic overreaction, by everyone btw, to a stellar playoff series... but Dewey is the only guy who could rightfully claim that spot, and after his shit fest in the first round he's gotta earn it back.

The old guard is nearly dead. Kobe is still kicking, but he is not a top 5 player anymore. KG and Duncan are still in, but shells.

While you can certainly debate your rankings (lord knows the old guard reporters would, Rich Bucher just spent 1K words arguing that Kobe was still the best assasin/game closer in the game) the only front court players not on that list I would take ahead of Boozer is Pau and Smith, putting him him behind Dewey, Bogut, Pau and Smith at #5 for the playoffs.

Oh yeah and odds are Dewey earns it back after he sodomizes ATL yet again.

If you're Mike Woodson, do you consider starting Zaza to get his fouls in early on Dwight so that Horford can get some run with Dewey on the bench? One of the matchup issues for Atlanta in that series is that Al is a pretty consistent performer on offense, but is entirely too small to play against Dwight. (As are most people)

He wont, nor would any of the other coaches....but I liked seeing Ratliff start against Dwight in round one to try to keep him from getting going with hard fouls.

Smoov needs to wake the eff up and Bibby needs to perform far better on defense if Atlanta wants to make a series of it.

Look, I'm the one that fought about the huge potential for them to gel in the second half for the majority of the first half of the season while the knobs here were parading around declaring them dead. I'm the one that has pointed out 100x that they go as Dewey's head goes (and he was incredible in the second half). But making assinign declaration based on a hot second half, beating a team that cannot shoot and beating a team that is incredibly mentally fucked by them is stupid.

Are they good and hot? Absolutely.

But, forgive me if I hold off until seeing what they do next round (against us or the Celtics) before declaring them "THE BEST IN THE NBA BY A WIDE MARGIN!!!"

I hate Tirico. I get the feeling Hubie wants to punch him in the face if he cheerleads for the Lakers one more time. It's not on the level of Bob Costas during the Shaq/Kobe years, but it's getting there.

Marv is still the best play by play guy. Really need to pair him with either McHale or Hubie for the finals.
