how about playing sebby telfair a bit this series?
I'm not saying more than 6-8 mins a game...during which your main objective would be to totally gas the meltics. In theory, this gassing could help negate their ability to perform a late game comeback. Also, I think telfair is more than capable of guarding rondo based on speed alone (compared to our other guards).
Cavs have done well with smaller lineups against the meltics, and since mike brown's rotation changes and subs are sometimes borderline retarded anyway (read lbj on rafer alston, etc etc)....

I'll go ahead and tell you why, although seems a waste.

#1: Bassy is the 5th best pg on our roster. (Behind Mo, Delonte, Boobie, and Lebron)
#2: Bassy isn't comfortable with the players on this roster, and would make enormous amounts of mistakes.
#3: Bassy has virtually zero time w/Lebron, Mo or Shaq on the court, the players who basically initiate the majority of the offense.
#4: Playoff ball for the Cavs is a much more halfcourt oriented game, and that means having shooters to play off the primary ballhandlers.
#5: Boobie hasn't even seen 5-10 minutes of run yet, and he's a more integrated peice than Bassy. (I guess that's #1 again)


If Bassy is going to get his feet wet and get minutes with this time (not a foregone conclusion w/current guards ahead of him) it will be in meaningless games, not crucial playoff ones.

parker played well on rondo last night, but i still contend we need someone to stop rondo from penetrating all damn day. parker won't do that b/c he's simply not as fast as rondo. A height advantage does help if the player is taking jumpers.

let's not forget the shitty touch fouls that are going to go boston's way when we play at their place. it could put our guards in foul trouble early
