Anyone?
Two favorites (Lookin at Lucky & Sidney's Candy) draw the rail and the far outside. 60% chance of rain. Lookin at Lucky is one of Baffert's horses, and opens on the rail ... where no horse has won the Derby from since Ferdinand in '86. Sidney's Candy is actually owned by Jenny Craig, the weight loss chick. Only two horses have won the Derby from the 20 gate, but one of them was Big Brown two years ago.
And who can forget last years shocker ... when Mine That Bird won the Derby as a 50-1 shot.
After my cursory review of the field, the horse I like is Devil May Care (opened at 11-1) riding out of the 11 post. One of four horses in the race for Todd Pletcher, who is 0-24 in the Derby. Also like Baffert's other horse Conveyance, who opened at 12 -1.
Kind of a crazy field. Two favorites both drew posts bad for their styles. A lot of horses in the 10-1 to 20-1 range. Good race to box up 5 or 6 of those horses in that range in a trifecta and hope three of em come in the money for a fat payday.
