PM sits in my outbox - why will it not "send?"

trying to send someone a PM and the message has been in my outbox all day - what gives? Can soemone please send this sucker? Thanks.

I think I encountered that once when my outbox had over 100 messages. Try deleting some and give it a shot. Other than that no ideas.

I only have the 1 message in my outbox. It is still there as of now. I need some admin help I think. Thnaks for the suggestion.

The message has been sent. Not sure if somebody gave it the "gentle nudge" it needed or what but thanks if you did.

They stay in your outbox until the person you sent it to opens it, IIRC.

well, that would explain it. I guess next time i send one i will keep that in mind. i assumed the PM system worked like email and would go to the "sent items" folder immediately.

could an admin. confrm that please when you get a chance?

TZ is away from a PC for a couple days ... should be back in the fold soon. He'll know the correct answer to this heb.

They stay in your outbox until the person you sent it to opens it.

That is correct.

The idea being they give you a chance to edit it or delete it before it is read.

Probably a handy idea.

Thanks to all. I promise I will not bother any one again about a PM "stuck" in my outbox.

Perhaps this topic should go to the library or some place for people who are searching for help on this topic. (Unless it is and I did not look for it?)

It has happened to me as well this week, twice, and for a day or two, not sure that the recipient didn't see it so I suspected it was still not sent.

Pup and I confirmed that it sits in the outbox until read. At least that is how it worked when we did a test a week or two ago.

Naw, this time it said something like "the sender removed the mail before you could read it" on my end...

Or FUDU actually called me a "dumbass" in the note and then decided to retract it before I'd return the favor by calling him a "smartass"
