Next Baseball Book Purchase?

Decided to take a trip to Borders tonight, out of boredom, looking for a new book on something related to baseball (For those interested, I just finished Odd Man Out by Matt McCarthy and absolutely loved it). Also just started The Curse of Rocky Colavito by Terry Pluto, loving it.

Unfortunately, after browsing, I realized if money wasn't an issue, I would have walked out of there with seven books.

So, has anyone read any of the following books? Anyone highly suggest any? I'll assuredly own most of these within a year or two, but was wondering which might be the best to pick up first.

1. High Heat by Tim Wendel
2. The Unwritten Rules of Baseball (just a fun little book) by Paul Dickenson
3. Baseball's Greatest Quotations by Paul Dickenson
4. Juiced by Jose Canseco
5. Now I Can Die In Peace by Bill Simmons
6. The Seventh Inning Stretch by Josh Pahigian
7. Is This A Great Game Or What? by Tim Kurkjian

What makes me laugh are all the stat dorks who pretend like baseball is this subject of impenetrable depth, way too intricate and complicated for clods like us. "Wins and losses??? You still think those are important??? LOL, what a rube!!!"

CHONE is a statistical projection for a player. Fangraphs has them on everybody's player page. It's just an alternative to Bill James's projections.

Here are the projections for Grady Sizemore:
Bill James: .272/.369/.484 25 HR 78 RBI
CHONE: .272/.370./.484 23 HR 68 RBI

Apparently, CHONE is taking the last 3 years for hitters, 4 years for pitchers, and weighting statistics based on certain variables like park factor, BABIP (batting average on balls put in play), all kinds of things.

Yup, I picked that up too. I just read Odd Man Out and doubt the Bullpen Goslpels is better, and both books are about a minor league relief pitcher (I belief). I'll probably eventually read it, but not before some others.
