Oh the memories. Good call Swerb! The Ground Round was just awesome as a kid. Endless popcorn, drawing on the paper placemats (before it was everywhere) and burgers were good too.

Were you around when the old Brown Derby (later a road house) burned in Willowick? Thing went up like a chimney.

Also, I am certain Chins has not changed one bit in the 30 yrs I have been a live.

Were you around when the old Brown Derby (later a road house) burned in Willowick? Thing went up like a chimney.

Also, I am certain Chins has not changed one bit in the 30 yrs I have been a live.

Yep, remember it like it was yesterday. Lived in Willowick from age 3 to age 18. Lived on Lakeshore over by the Cabin, then on Royalview, then Bayridge Blvd, then we moved like 200 yards around the corner onto East 309th St.

Good memories. Willowick was a great city to grow up in. Gone down the tubes a little these last 10 years.

No doubt. Some other childhood favorites I miss ...

York Steak House
Chins Pagoda
The Spaghetti Company (sit in the wine barrels)
Old school Brown Derby

Oh the memories. Good call Swerb! The Ground Round was just awesome as a kid. Endless popcorn, drawing on the paper placemats (before it was everywhere) and burgers were good too.

Yeah, Willowick was great to grow up in. Had family down the street from the Cabin and I grew up on Willowick Dr by Dudley Field. My parents are still there. I moved over to 305 and Barjode for a year with some friends before moving out here.

Willowick has gone down hill the past few years and its always a culture shock going home. Its nice and peaceful out this way while its a lot of hustle and bustle out that way. Shoregate has really gone down hill if you ask me. A lot of crime there from what I hear and read.

1. NOW how do you think the Buckeyes will do in the tourney?
The game is over now, so you can choose to not believe me, but I really thought they'd go down tonight. Tennessee's athleticism and depth was a little too much.

2. What was your favorite restaurant as a kid?
KFC.....(yeah i know using fast food is weak, but we barely ever went out because my parents are both really good cooks and they're pretty cheap)

3. On average, how many hours a night do you sleep?
7

4. What subject do you wish you knew more about?
Computers

5. Blondes, brunettes or redheads?
Blondes in a landslide

Are the Burnettes a roller derby team or something?

Funny shit guys, all b/c of a little typo, brunettes, I wish I knew more about brunettes, in a: women, you can't live with em pass the beer nuts kind of way.

Blondes are easy, just point in a general direction and they forget what took place for the past hour.

Last two week shave been hell work-wise.

Loved this thread, and sorry I missed it. The fav restaraunts part as a kid was amazing. For me, it was vargo's pizza in Richmond heights. For my $ 5 allowance for cutting the big yard, I could get a medium 'za and coke with enough left over for the juke box in the late 70's.

Plus to Peeker for the Cabin. And then there was York Steak House in Pukelid Square Mall. Kenny Kings, Arthur Treachers..... man, all that.

And as for blonde's . brunettes and red heads?

Man, there are two kinds of men. Those who are with blondes and those who are trying to rationalize the reality that they aren't. :-)
