Pups Power Poll

Unread postby swerb » Wed Apr 12, 2006 1:10 pm

New Tues morning feature we're working on ...

Team Last Week Overall Comment

1 Cleveland Indians 5-1 5-1 Exercise some demons by taking 2 of 3 from White Sox, sweeping Twins

2 Boston Red Sox 5-1 5-1 If Schilling and Beckett can each start 30, they will be hard to beat in East

3 St. Louis Cardinals 3-3 3-3 The outfield has to be better. Edmonds, Encarancion and Taguchi hit .175

4 New York Mets 4-1 4-1 Billy Wagner blown save costs Mets 5-0 week. David Wright = MVP

5 Oakland A's 5-2 5-2 You know the pitching will keep them around, but can they score enough?

6 Detroit Tigers 5-1 5-1 Young arms in rotation get off to good start. Offensive health a big ?.

7 Milwaukee Brewers 5-1 5-1 Starting pitching is better than most people think. Sheets needs to be ACE.

8 Houston Astros 4-2 4-2 No idea what to think, but if Clemens joins the rotation, look out again NL.

9 Chicago Cubs 4-1 4-1 Supposed to be speed and defense, but sweep Cards with power.

10 San Francisco Giants 4-2 4-2 Barry Bonds hit .167 with no home runs or runs batted in.

11 New York Yankees 2-4 2-4 They will survive bad start, I'm pretty sure

12 Chicago White Sox 2-4 2-4 Not catching every break in week 1. Welcome back Jim Thome

13 LAAAAAA Angels 3-3 3-3 Slow starts from Erstad, Anderson and Figgins.

14 LA Dodgers 4-2 4-2 Injury bug hits early and often. Shouldn't be a surprise.

15 Toronto Blue Jays 3-3 3-3 Welcome to Toronto BJ, Overbay, and Molina

16 Colorado Rockies 4-2 4-2 Young hitters are showing ability to hit away from Coors.

17 Arizona Diamondbacks 3-3 3-3 Pitching was better than should be expected, still only won half their games.

18 Seattle Mariners 3-4 3-4 Was Adrian Beltre a one year wonder?????

19 Minnesota Twins 2-4 2-4 Batista and White brought in to help, go 4-38, one homer, 3 rbi.

20 Kansas City Royals 2-3 2-3 Taking 2 of 3 from White Sox might be highlight of season.

21 Baltimore Orioles 2-4 2-4 Melvin Mora is mad, Tejada doesn't know what he wants. Could get ugly.

22 Atlanta Braves 3-4 3-4 Am I really doubting them again this year? Yes.

23 Washington Nationals 2-4 2-4 Have me guessing. Can Soriano adapt to left and bigger park?

24 San Diego Padres 1-4 1-4 Saturday: Brazelton 2.1 IP, 9ER. Sunday: Peavy 4IP, 8ER. Nuff said.

25 Texas Rangers 2-5 2-5 Kevin Millwood 0-2 9 earned runs in 11IP. Did the Indians know something?

26 Tampa Bay Devil Rays 3-3 3-3 First complete game of 2006? Mark Hendrickson. Riiiiiight.

27 Cincinnati Reds 4-2 4-2 4 saves out of 3 guys in week 1? Has to be some kind of record.

28 Philadelphia Philles 1-5 1-5 Charlie Manuel is a mess

29 Pittsburgh Pirates 1-6 1-6 Got first win Sunday. Jeromy Burnitz is Jason Bay's protection. Ouch

30 Florida Marlins 1-4 1-4 Had to provide chaperones for half the lineup during trip to New York City.

And that my friends is why we should all learn to not count on spell check to fix our errors.

But we can all count on Buffman!
At least I am not advocating at abts for Todd Hollandsworthless.

exercising demons

For a minute there, I was picturing a bunch of demons jogging around the track, and then hitting the weight room

Me too. A funny piece would be to mis-use some words on purpose.
