Issue in the posting screen

Don't know if anyone else is getting this problem. It happens when there's enough text in a post to need to scroll down. Once the scroll bar comes up it sort of flutters as you type where the posting screen jumps back and forth from the bottom when you type the letters to the top of the posting screen. Trying to scroll down to the bottom just returns it to the top of the post. Makes it very hard to post when there are a couple quotes that take up the space at the top or when you're trying to edit something near the bottom.

Yeah its always been like that for me. If I'm writing a long post I just type it in Word and copy/paste.

There are 2 possibilities....

1) I recommended we hold off on the latest forum update here because they are usually buggy. They might fix something while breaking something else. These bugs are reported and the updates are then fixed by PHPBB. IMO, it's always best to let the bugs get reported and fixed, then update. These updates have been known, on occasion, to make a forum inoperable...

Problem is, their updates aren't reliably fixing this bug...which could be because of issue#2,

2) It is also a known bug with IE8.....updating the forum won't fix IE8....

This is it. It just started happening after I updated.

Its possible I just thought of a fix....

While your reading this (you must be on the site that gives you problems), go up to TOOLS.

Scroll down and click
Compatibility View Settings....

A box will open, with the cleveland fan.com in the first line. It will be highlighted.

Right after it there is an ADD button.
Click the ADD button.

The Cleveland Fan.Com will be added to the Box that says Websites you added to compatibility view.

Your done. Close that all out.

I made this post longer than it needed to be to check it out. And it works great.

If your having trouble with ANY website, repeat this procedure with it...

I have had websites where nothing was showing on my end until I added them there....
