Guess there's something salvageable when it's an 'attempt'. I can't figure the guy out but I sure do love what he brings to the show when he's there.

Sadly, he's funnier and more compelling when he's all H'd up than when he's sober.

That said, he's done on the show. It feeds his monsters and he needs to leave. Next time you hear him will be down the road as a guest if he lives long enough.

WTF? How in the hell can you stab yourself NINE times?! Once, twice, 3 times. Shouldnt you be in too much pain after the 5th or 6th stab to do it again?

Then again, Artie's fat as fuck. Maybe he stabbed himself, "Shit, I didnt feel that one", tried again, kept going until he got woozy.

Having read his book, I feel for the guy.

He has serious issues that he has never truly resolved and probably never will.

While reading the book I couldn't help but feel the impending tradegy that will strike him and, more importantly, his family and loved ones.

This will just be attempt #1, IMO.

It's a cry for help, IMO. He knows he's f'd up and he can't fix it. He needs help but can't admit it through traditional means.

Beer League falls in the Boogie Nights realm- great start, sputtering climax and finish. Beer League has it's moments, mostly in the first 20 mins.

How do you 'try' to kill yourself?

Never understood that. There aren't many absolutes in life but death is one. Seems to me if you want out it's not all that difficult a task to complete.

Any tall buildings in NYC? No?

What about traffic? Rivers? Copious amounts of available drugs? Guns? Poorly ventilated parking garages?

Sheesh. People half-ass everything these days.

The guy's every waking moment, on air and off, is a cry for help. He needed another one? And to time it when you know your mom is coming over with a food delivery?

I like what Artie gives on the air. He's open, honest and funny because of it.

But this killed only his career. Maybe that's what he was going for. And no one who listens wasn't ready for it.
