Spoon, that link says page not available. Is the link bad or did they pull the story?

Either way, yeah, this is looking shady as all hell.

I am excited! Yet another title defense in YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO! Great publicity for the city and Youngstown State as well.
The arena seats 6500 for basketball. It, believe it or not, is a little larger than the Covelli Centre in Downtown!

GO PAVLIK!

You're excited that the fight is in Youngstown, I hope that's the only reason you're excited for this fight.
I understand the health concerns, but 2 weeks after the date he was supposed to fight Williams?
Only a 6 week training camp for a guy who almost died a few weeks back?

With all due respect, if you read any of the articles after he postponed that fight he made it quite clear that if his health improved in the next few weeks, there could be a fight later in December.

Right. Those articles all came out after Williams camp said they wouldn't wait around any longer for The Ghost.
Way to step up and take on a contender Kelly. The clown he is fighting was on The Contender so that does count right?
Let's see if the fight ever happens with Williams.

It's just a hometown tuneup fight after 10 months of inactivity, the guy has been through a lot this year.

Why all the hate FightDr?

I understand the inactivity part with all the shit he went thru, I really do.
But 2 weeks after the 2nd fight with Williams was supposed to be? Right after Williams signed a contract to fight someone else?
Why rush back if he almost died or was messed up bad which I am not questioning.
The timing looks a little questionable to me.
Williams had to take a fight when Pavlik cancelled twice but if Kelly was good to go say early January, they probably could have held out.

I wanted to see Williams vs Pavlik, now who knows if/when it goes down.

Bad for boxing.

Cut him some slack, there are two sides to every story. He'll beat up Williams sometime next year.

It's a freaking tune up fight for crying out loud.

No slack here.
Williams will punish him and I can't wait.....hopefully we get to see it.
I know it's a tune up fight and that's the problem I have with it.
Top fighters, champions, shouldn't be taking tune up fights.
We thought he was going to fight another top 10 guy, now this?
Pretty much a letdown, you disagree?
I know it's different because of the medical issues, but still a huge letdown.

Take it easy. Fight negotiations are difficult enough before serious staph infections are brought into the equation.

Paul will get his beat down at a later date, it's not a big deal.

He can't throw a punch with his left hand? Smart.

This Espino guy must be a real bum if Kelly is willing to fight him with only one hand.

I see that Sam Peter is going to be on the undercard. Might be interesting depending on who the opponent is.

This Korobov kid ... young russian middle, really looks like the real deal. Him and Danny Jacobs, a couple of very impressive young middles.

And a helluva fight between Soto and Chavez here. Chavez giving a very game performance. Not ready for his career to end.

Soto officially back in the mix at 130. Exciting division right now.

Gotta admit, I'm jealous of your bitterness capacity.

It is what it it Spoon. He's fighting a tomato can at a time when when a depressed populace is stretching dollars for the holidays. And it's just not a glamorous fight.

It's a decent paying sparring session at best.

No?

Damn impressive performance by Cermeno, systematically dispatching of a tough fighter in Valdez.

Time for the beginning of the rebirth of The Ghost. Fight Dr's worst nightmare.

Rebirth of the Ghost?
Let's wait until he fights someone decent.
I hope he stays healthy, Pavlik is good for the sport.

Given the fact he had just a 5 week camp, hand not 100% ... very encouraging performance from Kelly. Gotta give Espino credit. Kid just kept coming. Entertaining fight.

Espino had the same problem Paul Williams would have against Kelly. Couldn't hurt The Ghost.

Here's hoping Williams fights Pavlik. Cause Kelly will knock his ass out.

Mismatch.
Got his work in and did what he needed to do.
Let's hope the hand problems are gone and we see Kelly back in 2 to 3 months.

Overhyped piece of shit?
I love that.
You have him #3 on your pound for pound list.
Hilarious.

No. I had him #3 on my lb for lb list. Before the Martinez fight. And to me, Williams at 147, 154 even ... different fighter than Williams at 160, where he'll be unable to hurt anyone. Those weak swinging side of the glove punches are not going to hurt any middle worth anything. And Williams gets hit too much himself to compete with a middle with Kelly's punching power.

Pavlik beats his ass at 160. You know it too.

Williams needs a Pavlik fight more than Pavlik needs a Williams fight. Even his thug handlers aren't stupid enough not to see that. Kelly has the middleweight belts. Kelly draws better. Kelly draws more viewers. Bottom line, he has more options. He brings more money to the table than Slappy Paul.

Williams is also very proud. Its why Kelly and Arum are calling him out so aggressively. They know they will eventually be able to taunt Williams into the fight, and that Kelly will knock his ass out. Maybe not as quickly as the 144 lb Carlos Quintana knocked him out ... by by round seven at the latest.

Please make this fight happen. My winnings off the Fight Dr will cover the cost of the PPV, the food, and the beer.
