Cannot wait for Dragon Age. Bioware scored big time with Mass Effect, and this game is supposed to surpass it.

Mass Effect 2 will also be a must play for me.

QFT

I'll buy pretty much anything Bioware makes. Their games are always great.

9.5 on Gamespot...

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/dragonag ... ot;thumb;2

Perhaps I will pick up a PC copy of the game as the 360 version only received an 8.5. When Oblivion came out I picked up the 360 version, but was disappointed compared to Morrowind which I picked up for the PC. PC version always pwns, just based on user created addons.

Picked up Dragon Age the other day. I'm loving every bit of it. I got past the introductory stage that starts the main story, and got to the part where you have to go to each of the 4 places to advance the quest (a Bioware staple). Engaging story, excellent gameplay.

Been asked for advice for a friend buying her husband a PS2/3, need help.

I suggest the 3, just need to know what not to get and if there are any good beginner bundles in which the price can still be kept reasonable.

The guy is 44 and would like a first person shooter game and probably a golf game, what should I suggest to get for this system?

I've seen a couple nice bundles for $300 being advertised for Black Friday for PS3. If that's your thing, I'd take a look in the Thanksgiving ads and find a place to head to. IIRC, Best Buy and Gamestop have good bundles for BF, maybe Bill can expound further.

Actually as of right now, I know nothing of any special BF bundles. We usually don't run those kinds of things for new systems, only pre-owned. But even that, I haven't heard of any bundles for pre-owned either.

BUT... I am working Wed. night to set up marketing/advertising/other crap for BF, so maybe there will be bundles and we just don't know yet. I'll let you guys know.

I am so pissed right now! I've been waiting for a roster update to Madden 10 for weeks (really EA? Weeks go by now without a roster update now?) because I want to start a new chise with the CURRENT Browns to see what I can do with them.

Anyways, there was finally suppose to be an update today but now it's been delayed. They did however release a detailed list of changes by team. They added Matt Roth and Brian Schaefering but NOT Evan Moore. Wtf. I want Evan Moore lol.

I finally picked up MGS4 and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (collectors edition) so I've been playing them lately. Still playing Uncharted (beating it before I move on to the sequel), NBA 2K9 and Modern Warfare 2. I'm always behind because I don't get to play enough lol.

Cool to see some MMORP people. I played EQ2 till level 61. Then a baby and life took all my free time away. Recently the little one has started to give me more free time, so I am giving WoW a shot for a bit.

Favorite game I played this year was: Plants verse Zombies.

I got my wife a Wii for X-Mas so maybe I'll get some more time again.

My buddy got it and it's hard as shit for two people or more. Once you get to 3 or more the screen gets so wide it's hard to see if you don't have a big TV. Still the same old awesome Mario game though.

I pre-ordered Mass Effect 2. Replaying through ME1 for the 5th time.

The reviews out so far are looking very promising. If I wasn't trapped in Maryland I would probably take the day off just to play it all day.

Oh, and Godzilla from Blue Oyster Cult comes out for Rock Band Tuesday.

Loved the game, but left it for a stretch and now I just cannot get back into it. For some reason I hate the control layout, then again I am just getting older and don't have the patience to re-learn...

Picked up MLB 10 The Show and, not surprisingly, it surpasses last year's game. Not much they had to improve on, just tons of little things you'll notice during the game, guys ducking when an error flies in the dugout, etc. Seems like the physics have been tweaked as sometimes if you field the ball at a weird angle you take a long time to adjust your body and then throw. Used to be tons of up-the-middle singles in 09 but now the pitcher gets hit A LOT. Nothing usually happens to him though; I saw one get hit in the face and he didn't even fall down, let alone come out of the game. Seems to be more announcing errors too, but the strengths far outweigh these tiny problems.

Rome: Total War with both expansions. Thank you torrents, how I love getting things for free. I was going to go with Medieval 2 but I like the Roman time peroid more. Really fun game the battles are pretty realistic. If you get over aggressive, you'll have your flanks crushed by calvary. Urban Cohorts, Praetorian Calvary, and Onagers FTW.

I've been getting more mileage out of my PS3 lately. Used to be I only used it for playing Blu-ray videos and the 360 was the serious gaming console. The version of Fallout 3 for the PS3 was pretty buggy and some of the DLC was almost unplayable.

Since I started Netflix this week, it looks like the PS3 will stay at center stage on the 61" Sammy. I have many more titles for the 360 but with Microsoft wanting 50 bucks a year to get Netflix service, the 360 goes to the den and anything new will be PS3 platform.

I finished the last DLC for Assassin's Creed 2 on the PS3 yesterday. Seems kind of petty to release a game with shit missing and then charge you extra to get it back. The first DLC (Battle Of Forli) was a waste but the second one (Bonfire Of The Vanities) was OK.

I've been playing MLB 10 The Show. I started a franchise with the Tribe. I'm 6-16 so far. I've been playing like 1 or 2 games a series and simming the others.

Masterson has been my best SP so far. 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA.

Quick Update:

First, Mass Effect 2 is light years ahead of Mass Effect 1. I've been playing it nearly nonstop for a month now. The story is great, good characters you actually care about and the gameplay/battle is much better.

When I'm not playing that I'm playing through Borderlands. Pretty fun. Lots of different weapons. Cool if you play with others online since it's practically built with multiplayer in mind.

Beat Mass Effect 2 in the first week I got it when it came out.. Did it on Insanity difficulty. The commercials for the game are cheesy but, the game itself really immerses you in the scifi- 'future'.. Modern Warfare 2 is alright.. too many bugs, Battlefield Bad Company 2 is the best fps out right now. I like to play counterstrike source mostly in my free time still.

Modern Warfare 2 is crap. They ruined it by making Haloish. Dual wielding shotguns and SMGs is retarded. CoD4 is still where it's at.

Agreed. The maps aren't anywhere near as good as MW1 and it's glitchy as hell.

Infinity Ward had all of the money in the world to make MWII and fucking choked hard core.

I gave it a solid month to see if it grew on me and just had to quit out of sheer disgust.

The glitches, the maps, the camping, it is all gross.

It's the fucking Avatar of video games a giant bright shiny object that any moron can play and requires no skill.

I went back to Gears 2 months ago, I'll fight host advantage in a game that takes mad skill 10 times out of 10 over the sack of shit that is COD.

Respawn games generally suck anyway and they completely ruined Search and Destroy on this version.

And it's not Haloish CDT. Halo, for as lame as it can be, is the perfectly made game. Bungie is the best developer out there when it comes to churning out a glitch free game that works perfectly and demonstrates awesome accuracy. I'm no Halo fan, but comparing it's perfection (from a build standpoint) to the pile of shit Infinity Ward dumped on us w/ MWII is a joke.

My brothers both play MW2 and both sound like this guy while playing, btw this is NSFW due to typical gamer language.

That alone make me hate the game, and why I stopped playing Halo multiplayer when Halo 2 came out with Live...

Agree on Gears 2. It's got more staying power than any other game I own.

And L4D2 is pretty good too, although I can't play it for more than an hour or two or else I start feeling like I am ACTUALLY GETTING MY ASS KICKED. That game is exhausting.

Never got into GoW. Hated the whole curbstomp angle. The 1st game's single player was fun, but retardly short. The multiplayer was just not my cup of tea, if I shoot someone with a whole mag I shouldn't have to stomp on their head to get the kill. And the whole front roll grenade tag was really annoying. Never even tried GoW2.

I like the more realistic shooters, CoD4 was pretty much as good as it got. MW2 just shit all over that by allowing people to dual wield weapons. I quit playing because anytime you walk into a building some dumbass with 2 double barrel shotguns blasts you without aiming.

Going to check out the new Battlefield game.

For what it's worth, you only have to execute people in a couple game modes now (execution and annex, I think). In all the others, if you unload a full clip in someone, they're dead.
