HBO Rock and Roll HOF Concert

Holy shit.

If you have HBO watch it.

If you don't have HBO, find a friend that does and watch it.

Saw most of it last night. Certainly some drawn out parts, (CSN, Simon and Garfunkel) but some absolutly astounding "never seen again" mash ups of performers on one stage

U2 and Springsteen
U2, Fergie, and Mick Jagger doing a version of Gimmie Shelter that almost made me cry
Springsteen and Tom Morello
Jeff Beck and Billy Gibbons
Metalica and Lou Reed
Metalica and Ozzy Osbourne
and on and on and on

Probably the best made for TV rock concert. Certainly that I have ever seen.
I don't need to be patient, they're going to be shit forever.

Was very good. Watched the whole thing. Version of Gimme Shelter was insane. As was Springsteen singing "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" with U2.

Then Springsteen and the entire E Street Band playing with a who's who of legends for the final 45-50 min of the show. Song he did with the whack job guitarist from Rage was awesome as well. That dude is a sick guitarist.

Just about 50% of the way thru it.

Awesome.

All I can say, just a who's who of performers. Everyone was gracious and seemed just ecstatic to be there. Heard the Springsteen and U2 performances were terrific, so looking forward to them.

How about Ozzy m-fing the upper-class crowd...haha...
Playing here is the closest thing to heaven. Really, I mean it's amazing to be in a place where the fans truly cherish their football team and stick behind them win or lose. We players love them, too. I feel a sense of accomplishment playing here, we are a special breed of football players with a great opportunity." ~ tOSU LB Brian Rolle

Most of it was killer. Don't usually dig these kind of shin digs. Lou Reed was a highlight for me. As was Tom Morello. Ozzy was a low light. Sharon shouldn't let him out in public in his current state. He's a caricature of what he used to be, which isn't much anyway. He didn't even write most of lyrics in the Sab's, Geezer did. But I digress.

"Ghost Of Tom Joad" was probably the highlight for me (gotta find that one for my Ipod)...

Enjoyed the entire concert, esp:

The Boss
S & G
Metallica w/ Reed

It'd be better if they actually had it in Cleveland, you know where the Rock and Roll HoF is.
In the end, we're all "only for a limited time," you guys.

Let the speculation on a move of the R&R HOF to NYC commence!
