Five months after signing up to Beta test w/ Google I finally got my invite tonight.

I am so confused but so addicted already it is scary.

The future of email and chat and Google just rolled it out. Stuff is amazing.

They are rolling it out GMail style where each person that gets an invite gets 8 invites, so it should come to a town near you soon enough.

Just amazing shit.

I've been running Google Chrome for a few months now. I'm a big fan compared to Mozilla and IE.

I'll definitely be giving Wave a try soon.

Google is taking over the world.

GChat has destroyed AIM and only old farts that are still on Yahoo haven't gotten w/ the program.

Chrome is the shiz.

The Droid is allegedly better than the I-Phone or at least comprable on it's first release.

Google Voice is letting people all over the world use their phones in an incredibly easier fashion.

And now Wave?

Just sick.

GOOG from $250 a share to $570 in the last year. And still a buy at these levels IMO. Remember when it IPO'd at $100 and people were laughing their asses off. Same people that laughed when they bought YouTube for a sum that at the time seemed ridiculous ... and now? The bargain of the century.

With this week's pick up of AdMob for a cool $750M, they are very well positioned to expand on what they are doing for advertisers online. The industry has been waiting on robust self-service solutions for mobile web and mobile applications. Google will be all over it.

I got my invite for that and haven't jumped on it. I need to. I understand people who get these plans like Spring all-everything can just setup up google voice as their "free number" and give that number to everyone and it doesn't click against your minutes because it's setup as mobile-to-mobile.

Yeah I have no need for Voice as the biggest perk is wrapping all your numbers up into one and I only roll w/ my cell, but everyone I know on it uses it.

And yeah you have to request Wave, I put my request in back in July. That said now that it is out and people have invites if you find someone w/ a spare you can jump right in.

Got my Google Wave invite today after requesting it when this thread was started. Anyone figure this out yet? Having only had time to briefly scan through the intro emails/movies ... it looks intriguing yet overwhelming.

Got it also. Not sure what I'm supposed to even do with it. Would be nice if it just replaced gmail and imported my tens of thousands of emails and huge contact list.

Seems like it would be perfect for working on docs with multiple people?

After requesting an invite from 4 people over the last month or so, I finally got mine yesterday.

No idea what's going on or how to use it, or what purpose it serves. Anyone here have any luck/success with it?

I'm still unwrapping Wave as my time spent on it is only visits once every day or two to follow convos I have going there. That said, things like the graph Bot, voting and weather features are incredibly awesome and can be a lot of fun and I have already used it for file sharing more than once.

EOD something like this is best for a group of peeps to use together (one group of friends could get far more clean and functional use out of a Wave than an email chain, for evample), or for places like this where Swerb could use it to have writer discussions, have files dropped in one place for him to grab from writers, etc....

I think the biggest impact this will have is in the work place, as it can replace the traditional AIM/GChat use and literally serve as a fluid and open ended means of communicating w/in the work place. Some cutting edge places like MTV have their own systems like Wave in place already, however, those firms are few and far between.

Going to take a good while to get enough people on to fully realize the advantage to using this over simply shooting an email or hitting up GChat, but they are dumping invites by the tons. I've been given over 20 invites to give out already since I first made it in.

e0d, if I can ask a dumb question. There is a group of us who likes to create and view MLB swings for evaluation/comparison to our kids etc. Typically the MLB gets very stingy about copyrights, so you have something posted on your website they sometimes ask for it to be removed.

Usually if they see it's for instructional purposes or has been modded for that they don't care. Just in case I've been wondering about a backup plan, and it sounds like a wave might be suitable for this. Sure it's not in message board format, but wouldn't this be private and basically passed between group members? i.e. if you are not a part of the wave is it visible?

So, start collaborating already.

Seriously, no reason that we could not start checking it out with one another. Say during a Cavs game as a temporary reprieve from the usual game thread. Just a thought.
