Big Show drama today

Anyone catch the Really Big Show today? I only caught a couple of segments but I guess Sabrina said fag on air. Hammer dumped it but wigged out and tried to throw her out the studio but she got violent and was trashing the place so, Hammer called security and she was escorted out of the building.

All this was done over the air and they didn't go to commercial. Tony and everyone calling and emailing is pissed at Hammer because they think he overreacted and obviously shouldn't have done all that over the air. Personally, I think they both should be fired. Tony is the only good part about that show and it seems like everyone knows it except him. I don't catch the show that often but Hammer and the girls sound like morons. Unnecessary morons. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't get to listen to The Big Show all that often, but I agree. Tony is the only one worth listening to usually. Didn't hear it today, though.

I usually listen but cant hear much on Wednesdays because of a weekly 10am meeting. A buddy texted during said meeting around 11:45am and asked if I was listening, then later gave me the scoop.

Hopefully this is legit and the last we hear of Sabrina, as she brings NOTHING to the table outside of the occasional jock gossip due to who she's in bed with. Whenever she has to do her job of announcing the trivia prize she's goofing around on her phone, she botches names of sponsors, athletes, etc. Good riddance.

Yeah, I heard it. It wasn't a set up, IMO. They we busy dissing Peter Paul and Mary and Phish (god forbid!), she chimed in with a "fag" bomb. It never hit the air, as Hammer hit the cough button on her comment. He then signaled Rizzo carry on while he asked her to leave the studio to be scolded. She wouldn't leave, they cut off her mic, and then it just became a more miserable piece of radio.

Rizzo said he was embarrassed by the show, I actually believe him. It was amateurish, and his name is on it.

I like Rizzo, the rest of the cast I could do without, especially the ladies in studio.

Stop with the offtopic crap of the 100 dollar jeans and trying to get laid. It's quite one thing, if you're say Bill Simmons doing a podcast with Adam Carolla joking around about Movie Ideas or bullshitting about stuff. But they are able to pull it off and with ease, it's usually pretty hilarious.



Heck, even Dan Patrick can pull off a similiar thing with his crew. But, you're not, you don't have the credentials of the aforementioned.

Pretty much sums it up. At the very least, if there is a major sporting event going on such as the night after a Cavs game, it would be nice to have that as the main topic and what went wrong/right, and the topic about what the Browns are going to do in terms of Mangini and the Holmgren rumors.

That's what I want to hear when I turn on the radio, not Hammer discussing how awesome the Caddilac Ranch was over the weekend or how much he loves X-Top 40 Single.

If I wanted to hear that crap, I'd turn on 100.7 and watch the talentless and unfunny Opie & Anthony wannabes try to be funny and edgy.

It's sort of like this site, I don't click on an article by Jesse or the writer formally known as Hiko to read them discussing their personal life over the weekend and how it went, or this awesome song they can't get out of their head, I click on it wanting to read their take on how a game went, with the occasional humourous quip put in.

Reghi at 3PM isn't bad. He's easily the best one over there at KNR. Not hard considering you have this crap going on with Rizzo's show and Reghi isn't a Steeler fan like Roda.

As you guys can tell by the time, I am sending this, it has been a long day. I appreciate the email and want to first apologize for the impersonal nature of this response. I wanted to try to get back to everyone today.



First, I apologize for the language that was heard over the stream. It is not acceptable in our company, it was offensive, and I am sorry for those that heard it.



In regards to the events of today, there will be discipline handed out. However, unlike Tony’s commitment to share EVERYTHING with you, our management team handles disciplinary and personnel issues internally. Beyond Sabrina’s immediate removal from the final hour of today’s show, these details will not be public.

I can assure you that we are very happy with our team and since I have come to Cleveland in October of 2006 that no one has lost a job on air because of something they have said on the air. While it is possible that this may happen in the future, it will not happen as a result of this incident. Sabrina received her position as a result of voting from our listeners and we understand that in bringing in someone raw and inexperienced, there will be unfortunate situations like today.


Specifically, in regards to Hammer, Tony continues to tell me that he will never do radio again without Hammer and they are an inseparable team.

As Tony stated at the end of the show today, sometimes things go away from the Browns, Indians, Cavs, and Buckeyes. Incidents like today sometimes occur when we give our hosts the freedom that they have been given.


In short, I am sorry for the language on today’s show, discipline will be handled internally, but there will be no terminations as a result of today’s broadcast.

I need more balance from a sports talk radio show. I like the fact he is a nice guy and can run his show on emotion only, but that is ALL he has. He needs some real insight with some meat on it. For IE as much as some people didn't like Bruce he was a baseball guy. He has the goods on baseball (and it a pretty decent football guy too). So in between all his artsy fartsy stuff he could give you some meat with his takes. Not Tony.

Kinda agree with JB. Needs a substance show to follow him. Loved RBS for the first year, didn't miss it, now while still the best thing we have not a must listen. Keep Hammer being a douche, it works, he just gets carried away too many times. It takes it from funny, to annoying. Bring in one more producer type guy who does have more meat to his takes, or have regular guests that take that role.

Otherwise it is as good as we have here, seeing as Triv is winding it down, and hasn't been 100% sports for awhile. However when Triv is rolling, its the best show in Cleveland.

I've thought for some time now that in order to work a sports talk show has to have at least two people in the booth to play off each other. (Rome gets away with it - barely - because of the callers and that fact that he triples the amount of time necessary to get his point across.)

The tradeoff is that having two (or more) hosts will cause things to go off-track, like with Rizzo and Hammer. It's worth it.

I was listening the other day and Rizzo was going off on Hammer for being suck a prick. WHY doesn't he just fire him. There aint one person in Cleveland that likes him. When he goes off with his whiney voice, I switch over to Dan Patrick. And I usually don't go back.

The little prick thinks he's the next Peter Brown. He couldn't wipe the saliva off of Brown's microphone, and Brown wasn't all that.

Same with Sabrina. She was a very bad attempt to have someone on the show like the ho's Rover and Maxwell have. Her only claim to fame is getting bounced around by more Cleveland Browns than staph.
