It is a good time too.
My kids love any of the Mario-based games.
No more humbling an experience than gettong knocked out in the boxing game by a 7 yr old girl.

Dude, the Big Game hunting games are a freaking riot, too.

Thanks for all the feedback fellas. This is great. Getting me fired up. Half tempted to get the thing now and break it out at night after he goes to sleep.

Take the kiddo to game stop, get a discount card, and let him pick from the used selection. Do it tgether and you'll have a blast. Mari cart might be a great choice in addition to what's been mentioned. Back Yard Football is good, too.

BOOM!
Buy used. All used games have a 7 day cash back guarantee. If it's too hard for your kid, he just doesn't like it, or you don't like what he's playing, you can bring it back, get your full money back, and pick a different game. Hold on to the receipt (one of my biggest pet peeves).
Game to look out for: Super Mario Bros. New
It's reverting back to old school. I'm not so sure how old your kid is, but maybe you and him will have a great time playing it. You know why? Because it's multiplayer now! It's basically like the old school Mario games -- 2D, side scroller -- but now with multiplayer. Depending on how you're feeling that day, you can either help your buddies out or go Sith on them and throw them in the pit or if you're Yoshi you can eat them (from what I've heard so far at work). Releases on Nov. 13th (I think, somewhere around there). Might be a good holiday gift.
GameStop Edge Card (discount card) -- Two main perks... 1) 10% off all used games and accessories (not systems) and 2) 10% more in your trades, if you do that kind of stuff (no systems).
It's $14.99 to sign up for ONE YEAR. You get a full year subscription of GameStop's magazine GameInformer. Covers all video game systems, previews on games that haven't come out yet, reviews on games that have. You also get the discount card for FREE. Also good for an entire year, unlimited use, any Gamestop location.
An issue of GameInformer is $6 per, but for an entire year PLUS the discount card, it's only $14.99. If you sign up at the same time you're buying used games and accessories, you get your discounts right away, so it could potentially cost you less than $14.99.
The discount stacks on any other promotions (buy two get one free on used) and is a non-renewing deal. Once it's done, it's done. You have the option of renewing.
Thanks for coming into GameStop. Have a good day.

What does this mean? It sounds illegal and fun. Fill me in. I use torrents for music. You can do video games too?
