Sabathia out in the 3rd with an injury.
Has TCE ever struck this early?

Probably unrelated, but CC looks fatter than ever this season.
I've never bought the notion that he pitches better with the weight on, and that better conditioning would not make CC a better pitcher.

Does CC's contract have a conditioning clause in it? I can't believe the Indians would have given him that multi-million dollar extension last year without insisting on a certain level of physical conditioning, given his injury history.

Most of the people who I've read that have seen CC this spring have said the opposite, that CC actually looks a bit smaller than usual.
The "CC is fat" argument simply works well here because of the injury. Not a whole lot of chatter about him before the strain took place.
Perhaps he just didn't stretch appropriately before the game. He has been throwing in Arizona these past few weeks where the temperature goes a long way in helping to loosen up the pitchers arms and shoulders.
Sure, it stinks. CC dealt with a similar injury last season and he still went on to pitch well during the season.
Sounds to me like a tweak that happened at the wrong time. I've heard nothing about tears or anything horrendous, so I can only imagine CC being out for a few weeks.

When I saw people saying this morning that they felt CC lost weight, I was flabbergasted. The only reason I didn't mention it before was because that was the first time I saw him this spring.
To me, it looked as if he had noticably gained weight.
And regardless of whether or not he gained or lost weight, hes too fat. And I've been saying that for years, not days.
Two straight years with pulled abdominal muscles for a fat guy is more than likely nothing more than a biproduct of poor conditioning the way I see it.
What I find ironic is that the Indians are so adamant about having a clubhouse full of "high character guys", but no one on the team can tell CC to put down the fork.
Am I overreacting? Probably. WTF else am I going to do after one game?
