Ultimate Fighter 10

Tuned in for the first time tonight.

Pretty entertaining. Especially Rampage Jackson, who is as dumb as a box of rocks. That dude on his team ... was bleeding like a faucet in that first fight. Just got his ass whooped.

Hope you watched UFC Fight Night 19 prior to TUF. Great fights.

But anyway, that fight is a lot of what happens on TUF. Yo uget a bunch of unknown quantities together, and you see huge talent disparities. These guys have all played the role of can crusher in their careers, if they've even done that. So nobody knows how they will perform against real talent. You have other fighters doing the matchmaking, rather than a professional talent advisor like Joe Silva. So that's what you get.

That was bloody.

And your'e right about Rampage. Every once in a while he happens on something funny. But most of the time he is really dumb. And he has no idea how to coach during a fight. He stays completely quiet and just gets angry, mostly because it doesn't seem like he knows what to look for when watching other people fight.

Caught the last fight. Nick Diaz's bro submitting out Guillard.

Heard Nick Diaz was getting into boxing?

Yeah. He had a pro fight a long time ago. But he's just signed a contract. The guy's work rate is amazing. He set an MMA record for punches thrown and landed in a round the second from the last time he fought. Although that speaks to his hand speed and cardio, it also may speak to his lack of power if he can land so many shots before finally finishing a guy.

Anyhow, he's worked with a lot of guys, including Andre Ward. He needs to learn to keep his hands up for sure.

Rampage done with MMA...so no Evans fight I guess.

Dude is strange bird for sure. He used to be one of my favorites, but way too much drama to deal with.

All manufactured to create buzz and keep TUF 10 in the news.

Can lock and load that the Rashad Evans fight does go down.

$50 says Rampage fights Rashad by June 1, 2010.

Bet?

He has a signed contract and we know the UFC holds guys to that, ask Roger Huerta.
The part I laugh at is that you think it's being done to hype The Ultimate Fighter show.
That being said, I'll take your bet.

I think the Kimbo deal alone is going to create plenty of buzz for this season so I don't think this Rampage stuff adds much...they're competing stories IMO.

In fact, if anything it takes away from what is shaping up to be an interesting season...I mean look at the first fight carnage.

Cutman-"Man this is bad cut"

Abe-"Why, can you see the skull"

For all we know the Rampage/Evans fight occurs during an episode of TUF...that's how volatile Rampage is.

If the fight does happen, I go heavy on Evans.

While I don't agree with Swerb that this rant by Rampage was a promotional tool, I agree he's not out of the fight game, and will be back soon.

He may think he is retired. But Quinton is myopic. He thinks he's going to be the next Duane Johnson, pulling in $7 or $8 million for a Rampage Jackson vehicle. But he won't. He is destined to make two or three hundred thousand to get fourth or fifth billing in a B-level action flick. He doesn't have the good looks and articulate charm that is necessary to be who he thinks he's going to be.

After the A Team, he's going to figure out that he can make more money fighting. And he'll come back and fight. Right now, I think he is genuinely blinded by what he thinks is a budding Hollywood career.

Rashad Evans seems like a real cool, smart, down to earth dude. Making a fan out of me.

Cool to see that little dude beat that big goon.

First time watching TUF ... good show.

That Fat hillbilly just laid on top of him and hit him like a 9 year old, as Dana White said. He did keep Kimbo from knocking his ass out, but that was about it. Very boring fight. Put Hillbilly Jim up against someone his size, and it might be a different story. Look for Kimbo to beat some ass next fight. He will fight again. Marcus is a pussy.

That Kimbo fight was lame. I don't know who looked more disgusted with how it played out, Herb Dean or Dana White.

Sucks, I wanted to see him relevant through this entire season. Obviously UFC does too, he's a ratings machine. Previews look like they're jerry rigging something with the process to get him back in the mix.

He's about two more losses from bums away from being totally irrelevant though. Dude's lost to two total meatballs in a row now. Seems like as long as you get him to the ground he's toast.

Although i'm not a fan of Roy Nelson, he is known as a very solid all around fighter. He's the former IFL heavyweight champ.
He came in as a favorite to win the show so I wouldn't call him a meatball. His belly looks like a giant meatball however.
My prediction was that Kimbo would win and Nelson would be back after an injury to another guy. Maybe I just had it backwards??
Kimbo will be fighting on the show's live finale, that is a fact.

We shall see.
Seeing that fight is worth the $50.
Don't be surprised if it doesn't happen by then.
