Never before has the outcome of a fight been more certain.

A convincing, and incredibly boring unanimous decision for Hopkins. Lock and load. 118-110, 118-110, 117-111.

What happened when they fought at the peak of their careers?

The peak of their careers? They fought in 1993, before either fighter had any big fights. Peak of Jones career was '95-'03. Hopkins career started to peak in '01 with the win over Trinidad. Neither were in their peak in 1993.

It was a title fight for 2 up and coming stars.
Roy won.
I love it.

That's better. Definitely not the peak of either man's career.

Who knew 16 years later that would still be Roy's toughest fight. :lmfao:

You still have Hopkins as your number 2 pound for pound guy.
And who said Roy takes easy fights?

This fight is off.
Roy was knocked out in the 1st round vs Danny Green.
Retire Roy before you get hurt even more.

Thank you Danny Green for sparing us of this fight.

Although now it's prolly just going to be an incredibly boring Hopkins unanimous decision win over Green in the spring instead of Jones.

How about Hopkins vs Chad Dawson?
That has been talked about before and would have more interest.
Would probably put me to sleep but I would try to watch.

I'd love to see that. The old Hopkins vs the new Hopkins.

My take on Hopkins though ... at this stage in his career, is that it's going to take a lot of moolah to get him to fight he knows he could easily lose. Like the Calzaghe fight. I think he knew all along he'd beat Pavlik. And it was a big pay day. Don't know if Dawson brings in that kind of scratch to the table. But HBO may be willing to overpay, desperate to make something of all the $$$ they've pissed away on Bad Chad.
