Been feeling this stuff lately. Not a fan of the amber.

These Eastern Europeans can brew some beer. This is from Slovakia. Ordered some beer from Russia today, hope when I acutally get to drink it I don't get the urge to crush capitalism.

If Helen Keller also had no sense of taste she very well may have brewed what went in the bottle. The name of the year is indicative not only of its taste but also the sound one made when yakking it up.

Bell's Two-Hearted IPA (amazing, but knocks you on your ass). Bell's Third Coast Beer. Anything Great Lakes (especially Burning River). Stroh's, preferably from the ice-cold coolers of Hoopple's.

One truly God-awful swill. Pilsener on Call. It invoked the gag reflex just by seeing the can. The 3.2% crap was even worse.

http://www.ohiobreweriana.com/library/h ... ener.shtml

The phrase "P.O.C." was a cornerstone in Cleveland's brewing industry for more than a half-century. Even today, many years after its disappearance from bar tops and beer stores, P.O.C. Beer still lingers in the memories of Clevelanders. Dubbed "Pride Of Cleveland" (not by the brewery, but by its patrons), the venerable brand was the city's top selling beer at various points in its history. Its maker, the Pilsener Brewing Company, occupied an enormous complex at the corner of West 65th Street and Clark Avenue, fondly known as "Pilsener Square." Although most of the brewery still survives, it stands quietly in decay and gives little sense of the high regard in which Clevelanders once held the beer brewed within its walls.

Also, while in Louisville at the Woodford Reserve Bourbon bar I had the Kentucky Ale. Mix of Irish Red and English Pale ales brewed in Lexington. One of the best beers I've had in a long time.

That stuff is awesome. Had it at some English Pub type place on the west side of Cleveland this past winter. Can't recall the name of the place.

Thats overly redundent Peek.

People in Colorado are obsessed with Pabst, people order it all the time at the bars, it is available everywhere, and always on special (for obvious reasons). Dont really get it. Tons of microbrews out here, has to compete with Coors which is king here, and still has a following.

~Commodore Perry

EBC is excellent. Railbender is unquestionably the star, but the Presque Isle Pilsener and Mad Anthony's are also tasty.

Only lineup I have found that can give GLB a run for its money. Have the IPA tonight, it is every bit as good as Commodore Perry. I dont think it is very visable, but it is Odells Brewery from Fort Collins. 5 Barrel Pale Ale and 90 Shilling are top tier as well.

Got this for $2.99 for a 6 at Trader Joe's, mostly because I figured I needed something bad to compare to my first batch of homebrew (bottled today, cracking open the first Saturday). I got Pilsner and not Lager, though.

I was looking for a way to say a few bucks on my kegs so I decided to try some off brands.

During the summer I got a beer called Flying Fish Farm House Summer Ale. At 10 dollars cheaper than anything else in the store I decided what the heck. It was very good. I actually went back for a second sixtel.

This past weekend I put Flying Fish Octoberfish on tap. One of the most easy drinking Octoberfest brews I have ever tasted.

I wasn't expecting much out of the Flying Fish brews but they definetly surprised me

Haven't been on too much of a beer kick lately. Had a tall Newcastle Brown Ale last night, which is absolutely delicious. One of my faves out of the tap. Had a couple GLB's last week, the Commodore and the Oktoberfest. Both are very good. Counting the days till I can get Christmas Ale this year, and will probably Swerb it and get a couple reserves for the spring, preferably for the NCAA tourney in March. Nothing better than taking Thursday and Friday off and watching a full day of basketball.

Today, I ran to WalMart (yuck) for some household things, and I went down the beer aisle. Ended up picking up a Dundee (Honey Brown) sampler. 12 beers and 6 different types. The Honey Brown, a pale, an IPA, a wheat, a porter, and something else. for like $12 it's not bad. Only on my first (the porter), but it's good and I'm a sucker for samplers. As I drink the porter while typing this, I'm enjoying it more.
