Draft Help

Unread postby View from 171 » Thu Aug 27, 2009 9:00 am

I'm in a keeper league (PPR) and have the 2nd pick in the draft. I kept MJD and Romo this year.

After running a couple of mock drafts it looks like LT, Forte and Brady are likely the top 3 that I will have to choose from.

Brady - Missed all of last year...but it is still Tom Brady.
LT - Looked a little slow last year, but I'll chalk it up to injury and bad blocking
Forte - Sophmore slump?

Who would you guys pick?

Any chance you trade Romo for a decent RB? Then you could take Brady.

Forte was a PPR dynamo, but Cutler rarely throws to his backs. Was it because the Denver backs couldn't catch, or just his gunslinger ways?

LT is probably the safest choice (since 2 QB's is silly). He is going to run for 1200 yards. He is going to score 12 TD's. Forte could be better in both of those numbers, but it is hard to be positive. Will Chicago throw more inside the 20? Will 2 and 3 plays become passes to the TE instead of runs for Forte?

Easily Forte.

With a real QB in C-hicag-O, opposing defenses won't flood the box with 8 guys damn near every play.

I like Pup's idea of moving Romo and getting Brady.
If not that, LT, no doubt in my mind.
People are doubting him, Sproles playing more will freshen him up for the entire season.
1,500 and 15 to 20 TDS. 50 catches.
They play against some shitty teams too.

Thanks for the help. I tried to move Romo.....but had no takers. I'm afraid the #1 pick will take Forte (although I'm hoping he's stupid enough not to). So that leaves me with Brady versus LT.

Because I already have MJD, I'm thinking a LT and MJD would be a nice 1-2 punch for RBs. But it is going to be real hard to pass up Brady.
