The chick fight might be interesting, as well as Melendez-Ishida and Mousasi-Sobral. I really like Babalu, but I might just ask somebody to DVR this one for me.

If Fedor fights next card, and Shields fights Jacare and Diaz fights whoeve...that will be a GREAT card!

Diaz didnt show for his pre-fight drug screening, never a good thing to do. I was pumped for his fight with Hieron.
I'll still watch my girl Gina even though I think she might be in for a bad night.
This card was loaded and then all the cancellations made it average at best.
Did I mention I love Gina Carano.

Carano never had a chance in this one. Was a matter of when, not if ... from the get go.

Gina, cute, not even a good fighter though. The best of an incredibly weak lot of female MMA fighters to this point. I think you'll see the quality of the female MMA fighters improve dramatically over the next couple years.

Swerb: Is this the first Strikeforce show you've seen? I imagine you have Showtime, being a boxing fan and all. But if you haven't tuned in before, make sure you check out Nick Diaz when he fights. He's only 26 or 27, but has been professionally fighting since he dropped out of high school. BJJ black belt under Cesar Gracie (who also trains the Melendez kid that fought on Saturday) and a neophyte pro boxer with a very unorthodox style. Tough kid with a little bro who fights in the UFC.

And Nick says some crazy funny things. For instance, he commented on a fighter bringing his wife or girlfriend to a fight...

“Back in the day, a Ninja didn’t have his girlfriend sitting in the tree waiting to kill shit.”

And when asked by a reporter if his marijuana smoking was getting in the way of his fighting career, he said:

“Actually, on the contrary, my fight career has gotten in the way of my marijuana smoking.”
