Scout.com has an "Ignore this user" option. How hard would that be to implement?

Something to consider if you implement this. There is blanking out user's posts (pretty easy) and there is blanking out all of a user's text, even when it is being quoted by another user (a little less easy, but better functionality).

I'd love to see both, but even #1 would be nice.

I've loved coming here to talk Tribe for a while now but I can no longer take the idiots. I'd much rather be able to put them on ignore instead of no longer visiting this board, as I'm about to start doing.

It's sad that it comes to that, but it makes for a healthier lifestyle.

Every single thread on the Indians forum results in:

1. The org can't procure talent (see any draft thread)
2. The org procures wonderful talent but let's it go after they ruin it (see any Rule 5 draft thread or any former player (Guthrie, Iszturis, etc.) thread.
3. The older guys suck and the younger guys rule. But only right up til the younger guys actually play, then revert back to rules #1 and #2.
4. Everyone in the org blows and a select few posters know everything.

Oh yeah, Brandon Phillips to you all.

Pretty much. I really need to look at the names of people posting before I read a post or a reply. That way I can just skip right on past it.

Because it gives me a headache to read most of the crap and I don't need that. Not with two jobs, one staring at a computer screen all day long and the other dealing with the moronic public at a restaurant. I get enough pains from those two things already.

It would be very nice to be able to escape from all of that by discussing the Tribe, no matter what happens my favorite subject in the world. But alas, that is not possible in the realm of sports fans. Especially Cleveland sports fans.

Pretty much. I really need to look at the names of people posting before I read a post or a reply. That way I can just skip right on past it.

I think everyone knows, you have a friend or foe section in your Profile Control Panel....

If their a foe, you don't see them.....friends are highlighted, I believe....

The one thing I don't like about the current "friend or foe" thing is that you can't add moderators or admins to your "foe" list. Well some of the people I wish to ignore most fall under that category.

If there was any way we could nix that part it would be great.

just playing "devil's advocate" here, but isn't banning someone from a message board a form of censorship??? that's funny because i thought we had the freedom of speech under the bill of rights. that being said, i think the "ignore user" feature would be a much more palatable thing since it would be other people's own individual choice to ignore any particular user. it's kind of like turning the channel on a radio station if you don't like what you're hearing on a talk show. it doesn't affect anybody else who might be listening, just you. sorry but i just had to put my 2 cents in there.

just playing "devil's advocate" here, but isn't banning someone from a message board a form of censorship??? that's funny because i thought we had the freedom of speech under the bill of rights. that being said, i think the "ignore user" feature would be a much more palatable thing since it would be other people's own individual choice to ignore any particular user. it's kind of like turning the channel on a radio station if you don't like what you're hearing on a talk show. it doesn't affect anybody else who might be listening, just you. sorry but i just had to put my 2 cents in there.

Can we add an "ignore emoticon" button? They're cute and all, but they make it a lot harder to browse the forums at work. And some people have gotten plain addicted to them, just posting empty posts with a bunny or a guy puking.

In your Control Panel, you have tons of options....One of them is display options, with several images settings you can turn off or on...

That's my list. I have no idea why some of them are on it and I may now have to adjust it for that simple reason. Not all of them, there a couple who I know exactly why they're on it.

Personally I don't ignore anyone because there's usually an epic rant I'm terrified of missing. We have a pretty good policing system around here where if someone is just so idiotically stupid, they're run pretty quick. And those who are just here to troll are banned.
