Slice solutions

I have a horrendous slice. Horrible.

As with most players, with my driver it is the worst and it lessens with each club on down. I've tried everything outside of getting lessons (too proud, too stupid). Does anyone have any tips to share?

Mine wasn't day-ruining. More of a fade with slicing tendencies

The big thing I did was to (and I'm righthanded) was to strengthen my grip. More specifically, if the club is lying at rest in your hand at address, my right thumb would have been pointing at 1pm on a clock. I strengthened the right hand grip to the point my thumb now points at 11 or 1130 on that clock.

It's not gripping harder, just from a different position.

The other part of the equation for me was having my left foot just slightly ahead of my right foot in the stance (just slight closed instead of slight open or square before). When I was square I was sweeping too much and almost cutting the drive. Having my left foot slightly ahead of my left forces me to swing more through the ball.

I'm not golf coach and I don't play 4 times a week, but those things helped me.

Just working on swinging 'out' and not 'straight' through the ball. Meaning that when the clubhead passes through the ball, the clubhead's path is almost heading right of the target line (assuming you are a right handed). Slices occur because of the outside-in swing path usually caused by over swinging. Doing that will create a ton of side spin which gives slicers that banana shaped ball flight.
