Probably because of boards like I'm facing.

Eight days left. Next Monday is the final day of Phase I. The tiebreaker, should we need it, is to select the winners of all 15 games that day.

Field went 3-4 on a light day yesterday. Picks of note saw The Lead Man win again, and move into 2nd place at 17-6. GodHatesClevelandSports had a fatal 10th loss with the Orioles. ASP became the first player to finish, bumbling to a 13-17 phase.

Light schedule today, with 12 of the 30 MLB teams off. One day game, White Sox/Jays. Peeker all but certain to go with the Braves and Derek Lowe tonight at home against the Rockies to move to 21-6 and mathematically eliminate a whole bunch of people, and really start to put pressure on the other contenders.

Results - Day 42/50

1 Peeker643 20 - 6 0.769 W13

I agree with you Swerb - there is NO posiible way Peeker loses with the Bravos tonight. I'm suprised Nevada doesn't have that game at about -850. What a lay-up the league is handing him. NO WAY he loses tonight.

You might want to save yourself some work tomorrow morning, and just update his stats with a win for today, since a loss if basically a statistical impossibilty.

Good luck to the rest of the field today, and congratulations to Peeker on his win.

One would think you two humps have work to do of your own. ;-) ;)

If you guys win out you likely take it down. So if I had it sitting in the palm of my hand I'd look to take it rather than be handed it. :hide:

But it can't be all that comfortable having the clubs Rich has left while Lead might be a day of rain away from ruin. :lmfao:

My own fault. I should have went Jurrjens v. Hammel tomorrow but Marquis has been God awful against his old team.

As Duke told Rocky in the early rounds of the Drago fight in Rocky IV ... "You cut him! You hurt him! You see? You see? He's not a machine, he's a man!"

The streak is over. 13 in a row. And we have a new leader.

Peeker, electing to use the Braves with Derek Lowe (against Jason Marquis, who has been solid), as opposed to the red hot Jair Jurrjens (vs Jason Hammel) ... was burned, when the Rockies sniped the Braves late, winning 5-1 in Atlanta. And The Lead Man stayed hot, winning yet again, last night with the Angels, who rallied back after being down early. Lead is now 18-6, and needs to make six selections in the final seven days of the pool.

9 of the 20 participants are still mathematically alive, as no one has yet to notch that magical 21st win.

Full slate today. Some big favorites to choose from. Should be an active day, and many competitors are just one more loss away from mathematical elimination.

Rich-

Clarification please. When is the last day you may pick a team for the regulation portion of this contest? Is it Monday? Because with Tuesday being 44/50 then Monday would appear to be the last full day of the competition. Or am I off here?

And the runoff (if needed) would be?

Thanks.

Peeks, the final day of the Phase is Monday. Monday is also the tiebreaker day.

Everyone who could potentially be involved in a tie must pick all the games on Monday. Also, if they have a pick remaining, they must identify who their one selection is for that day.

Reminder, your pick on the final day gets rained out, you get screwed. Most total wins wins the pool. Winning % does not factor in at all.

So if one person is 21-9, another finished 21-8 ... that is a tie. Most total wins the only thing that matters.

Saddest part of that game is that I missed pretty much the whole first half of Lakers/Nuggets to watch innings 7-10 of the Nationals and Pirates. Like 1,000 people there. Dr Poove was one of em.

Following the Indians and Nationals has just been a miserable experience this season. Two worst bullpens in at least the last 150 years. Every night, at least one of em is gorking a game late. God is punishing me for something.

The effin Lead Man. Just keeps rollin. Now 19-6, and a 3-2 finish away from 22 wins, which would appear to be good enough to at least get him to a tiebreaker. However, he has five very bad teams left. And must use them all over the next five days, or else he will run the risk of a rainout potentially screwing him next Monday on the final day of the phase.

This thing is still wide open. No one has gotten to 21 wins yet, and the wins come a lot tougher in the final week of this pool.

Full slate today. Doubleheader between Ariz and Fla, so be sure to designate which game if you pick the Snakes or the Fish. All night games sans the first game of the aforementioned twinbill.

Eff Joe Beimel. :fu:
