I already bet my weekly gambling allowance on Machida, so any side bet would have to be non-monetary, lest my wife leave me for someone more obedient.
That said, Machida's performances against Rich Franklin and Tito Ortiz are stunning to watch. Contrast Evans' performance against Ortiz to Machida's. It's amazing. Lyoto just does not get hit. He makes other fighters play his game. And I feel like the same will happen Saturday. If Jackson is smart, he's convincing Evans to take the fight to the ground. Lately Evans has gotten a little too pleased with himself when it comes to striking. But even if he tries to implement a ground strategy, it's easier said than done against Machida. Just look at his takedown defense against Ortiz. Everytime Ortiz shot, Machida would bring him into a clinch and shrug him off, get out of the way, or use a judo or sumo throw to take Ortiz down and land in side control.
It will be an interesting fight to say the least.
