Alright, Im on the UFC Bandwagon

Unread postby swerb » Sun Jun 24, 2007 2:56 pm

It was only a matter of time. Im going back and Netflixing all the events from UFC 60 on.

Just watched 60 a couple nights ago. Matt Hughes lays waste to Royce Gracie. Spencer Fisher wins a classic over Matt Wiman with a beautiful flying knee kick. Melvin Guillard knocks some overmatched white guy I never heard of out cold with a lethal right hook to the temple. Diego Sanchez beats John Alessio in what I thought was a bogus decision. Brandon Vera choked out some huge dude named Silva.

Entertaining.

Im skipping 61 per the advice of The Fight Dr. 62 should be here Monday. 63 Wedns.

Hoping to get caught up by UFC 75.

Finally, it's about f-ing time.
Brandon Vera is one of the most talented dudes in the sports, hopefully he'll be back in the UFC soon.
Diego should have lost that fight, you're right.
Happy viewing, you won't be let down.

UFC 75 might be the biggest event ever.

Contract BS, more of a feud with his manager than anything else.

Vera is going to find himself at the bottom of what's about to be a real deep HW division in the UFC, especially if/when they sign Fedor.

Fedor
Couture
Big Nog
Cro Cop
Gonzaga
Sylvia
Arlovski
Werdum
didn't I read Barnett is going to sign
Aleks, if they sign him

Vera had said all along he wants to be the Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight champ................at the same time.
His best best is the Light Heavyweight class.
The guy is a freak and fun as hell to watch.

i agree it could be the best lineup card ever and that says something as they always put on a great card

can't wait for the big 3, I see

evans over tito
marquardt over silva (I dont think they will be on their feet at all, Marquardt by submission)
sherk over franca(again sherk ground and pound)

I don't think any of theses fights will be slugfests and them mostly being on the ground...I think the best fight will be Tito v Evans as they both hate each other

I too wish BJ Penn stays at 155 cause I dont think anyone would stop him, but I also think he will beat Hughes and St. Pierre..he could be the first 2 belt holder

it seems everybody is picking Evans. I'm not a big Tito fan but I think he will beat Evans.

Tito wins and I'm just kinda a fan of his. We will see the true Tito and the definition of ground and pound in this one.

Silva I think will win in a close, great matchup. This sets up Franklin getting a rematch and then getting his belt back.

I like Franca in the upset. I love watching him fight.

Wager?
OK
We'll both make our picks before the card starts and whoever wins more wins something.
What did you have in mind?

The Liddell KO was great. As was that monstrous French black heavyweight. That Branca dude looked like a bad ass ... he battled back in that scrap.

Good card, I agree.

The Hughes win over BJ Penn in the main event of 63 was great. What happened to Hughes? Haven't seen him in Spoons last couple PPV previews?

Also, who decides what the cards are going to be for the pay per view events?

Hughes caught a beat down at UFC 65. Georges St Pierre beat his ass.
He fought at UFC in C-bus and beat Chris Lytle.
He is set to take on champ Matt Serra in December.
Him and Serra are the coaches on Season 6 of the Ultimate Fighter show.

UFC 64, what a fight between Sean Sherk and Kenny Florian.

And Anderson Silva, just absolutely taking apart a previously 22-1 Rich Frankin at the seams in the main event.

Great card. Got to see alot of the fighters I've read so much about for the first time.
