Chris Wells. Guy's from Akron and a buckeye and would be great to see the fanbase get excited about getting him here. You need a good ground game to win in the NFL.
granted I think this is an extreme reach and this pick would be better made after we trade with Denver for their 18th, or we could pick Clay III there as well.

SD: I get the OL pick, I am just worried of all the money that would be in our OL then. If you're going to pour it into any area I guess that's not bad, but you have ROL, LOL and G all making huge money then and you still would have to consider Mack or Wood if they're there with our 2nd. With that draft we might automatically have the best O-line in the league but I'm not sure what else we'll have.

JB, I appreciate the effort but you didn't put Curry in there. And he is far more likely to be available than Stafford or either of the Tackles.
If Curry falls, we may have a Canadian team want to trade for him. If Stafford or either of the top two tackles fall to us, we'll need a team of switchboard operators just to field the calls from the rest of the NFL.
Still, nice try.

Curry won't be a choice, ace. better shot of Safford dropping than Curry. He may go one, certainly no lower than 3 as in death and taxes, plus he'd skew the poll. That's why.

In all the years I've been hanging around Browns internet sites I am still totally incapable of understanding this train of thought and how it concerns the success or failure of the Cleveland Browns.
Fans of the Browns and other college teams think that maybe after the Troy Smith draft fiasco that OSU fans would kinda just let it go.
I remember being chastised for a former sig line at another site that said.."With the 29th pick of the draft, the Baltimore Ravens select troy Smit, quaterback, Ohio State University.
Sad to say I missed by 3 rounds.....
In any event, I'm all for whomever is a bloodthirsty, headhunting, bad-assed defensive muther fucker who wants not only to win but destroy the will of the opposition physically torture them in the process.
I want a D that can play 4qtrs, balls to the fucking walls.
I want blood.....chest cracking, pain inducing, concussionary collisions..... followed by a quiet moment of reflection
Gimme whoever that is

Off topic, while I wasn't high on Troy Smith out of college everything I heard out of Baltimore before the year was that he was the best QB on their roster before he got sick. I'm not willing to fully commit but I think given the chance the kid could be someone that makes some noise at some point in his career.

I have heard rumblings that Wells could go to anywhere from the Saints at #14 to the Eagles at #21 so Denver 18th overall could work if the Broncos don't go defensive with both of their picks.
I have a feeling Clay III may go even higher than expected possibly at #15 or 16 to Houston or San Diego.

Wow, I could be way off base, but I think there is no way that Clay gets taken in the first round at all. I mean, he was never a 1st round talent from anything I've read in the media or felt while watching the kid. Add that to him possibly having tested positive for steriods, and I think he goes maybe in the 2nd round.
Top 15? I would be S-H-O-C-K-E-D.

With more and more teams running the 3-4 nowdays Clay III is perfect fit for the WLB spot. If he gets out of the teens I don't see him slipping by Mumbles at #23 as a replacement for Vrabel.

Agree 100% here. Voted for Rey myself. Obviously i'd like to not reach for him at 5, if BE is gone and Crabtree is there taking him is a no brainer.
It's funny I HATE watching the Draft, but love talking about it.

Crabtree won't be anything special in the NFL and he's fragile to begin with.

That being said, I wouldn't mind trading down and taking Hakeem Nicks, Darius Heyward-Bey, or Kenny Britt, obviously we can't take them at 5.

Trade down to the 12th slot from the Broncos for the right for them to Draft Sanchez over the '9ers, We get a 3rd round pick or 2nd rounder out of the deal depending on things.
We get Chris Wells (who's probably going to the Saints, enjoy him Bayou) with the 12th, finally get some youth with the ground game and maybe our first really, really, good runningback in a long time (make sure you have UH or the Cleveland Clinic on speed dial though), we trade Braylon for the 29th, Steve Smith and a 5th, and with the 29th get Clay III.
This would be a PR dream for ManKok and pretty much buy the fan support for this season for a little while.

You can get one of those guys at 29 from the Giants, or even 37 IMO.
