2009 Masters Contest

Heres how it works. $5.25 gets you 1 golfer, or you can get 3 golfers for $10.50 (6 for $21 too). The loose change is to pay the 2.9% paypal fee. Golfers are blind draw, along with the participants name. Since I dont have time to cash 100 checks for $5-10 a piece, we're going to do this strictly via paypal. You can send the money to sizemore24@adelphia.net. When you send the money to my paypal, please make sure you PM me your name and email so I can get you on the list as paid. There are 96 golfers in this year's tournament. If for some reason we dont sell all 96 golfers, then we will take the top ranked golfers (however many slots we sell), and just sell "the field" as one of the golfers. Im sure we can fill all the slots since this is a pretty cheap pool. I will add an updated list to let everyone know when it fills, and when we draw names. Thanks guys, PM me with any questions.

Doesnt look like there is anymore interest, so since there is only 45 signed up I will put the top 44 golfers (according to world rankings) and "the field" as one entry. I will draw tomorrow morning and post it on here when finished.

Lady Luck sure hates me. First a few no-name golfers for my group (one of which I found out should actually have a name someday when he can buy alcohol). Then one of the ones I do recognize has to go and do something like this.

Ever since Sam Snead won the first Par-3 Contest in 1960, no winner has claimed a green jacket four days later.

Which means bad news for Tim Clark. The 2006 runner-up -- at the real tournament here, that is -- aced the final hole to shoot a 5-under 22, currently leading the field.

Rich Swerbinsky
Luke Donald
Padrig Harrington
Retief Goosen
Dustin Johnson
Robert Karlsson
Ian Poulter

Some veteran golfers there who will hang around and be in it on Sunday...

I've got Tim Clark and Shingo. Guess Chad Campbell (whose -5 through 6 holes) is in "the field"

Also Kyle, I reserve the right to revoke any criticisms of said drafting process if I win.

It said right here in the rules that this would happen if the pool didn't get filled up. Only 46 spots got filled so someone got lucky and got "the field".

It was a random draw and anyone could have gotten it. I'm sure it's because you weren't the lucky one to get this slot, it was brought up eh?

How about this? If Fuzzy Zoeller ends up taking this thing down, I'll float ya your money back :nanner:

Congrats to ASPdawgpound12 as he took home the jackpot. One of the best Masters I can remember watching. Maybe next year, someone will tell Tiger that the 1st hole of the day actually counts towards his score.

If I'm not mistaken, Cabrera was in "the field"? Really? He won a major 2 years ago and wasn't ranked higher than some people I've never heard of until now?

Cabrera was ranked #69 in the PGA world rankings before the Masters. He is now ranked 18th. I agree, there were a lot of guys in the top 50 that Ive never heard of myself. Pretty crazy that Rory Sabantini was ranked 50th.

You're kidding me? Shocking news to say the least. The guy with 50 golfers won? Get out of here? Who coulda seen that coming?

You're really not fooling anyone by being pissed off because you weren't the one who got "the field"... Next year set one up with your own rules or buy more golfers.... It's that simple... Thanks for the $$$

I'm guessing he only plays on the European Tour (or South American or whatever) except for the Majors. I liked the tournament idea, even with "the field" but maybe next year (if we do it) after the random draws, if you don't know one of your golfers you could substitute with someone from "the field"? Also, I definitely thought it would get more interest. Didn't think there would be a problem filling up and was shocked when only half the golfers were taken.

We had a ton of interest in the first two hours, then after that I think only 3 spots filled. O well, i still had fun watching. We'll improve it next year and hopefully promote it a little better.

A couple of months ago I was told that there was a pre-existing contest so when I didn't see one posted towards the Masters, I got the OK from Swerb to start one, but unfortunately it was last minute.
