What's Your Favorite Cheeses?

Other than Asian food they pretty much go with anything...by themselves, stuffed in something or just melted on top:

My faves right now:

1. Gorgonzola
2. Chedda (always near the top)
3. Pepper Jack

Fontinella is very good.
Swiss is my old reliable.
Pecorino-Romano is great on pasta in place of Parmesan.
I like Colby Jack on crackers.

I'm sure there will be a lot more I'll think about later.

Havarti, munster and cheddar, gouda and provolone are my top five. Occasionally go for goat, blue and brie.

Along this line of a cheese topic. For those willing to be adverterous try this out:

1 large container of 1% cottage cheese (small curd)
1 (or 2 if you like) large dollops of sour cream (I use s soup spoon)
green onions (as many as you like, I usually use one whole bunch) chopped. The smaller the green onions the better.
5 - 7 finely chopped radishes

Mix in a large bowl and enjoy with some Pillsbury crescents fresh out of the oven.

Grew up on this stuff (pretty much every Sunday). The first time my wife saw me make this she thought no way in hell would she eat it. But she tried and all was right with the world

Middlefield isn't a bad road trip for those who have a "jones" for different kinds of cheese. Just don't get too close to a horse and buggy as you might lose your appetite after the equine cuts some onto the roadway.

Just got home from Middlefield on my weekend golf excursion. The cheese factory is no big deal. Not a huge swiss fan. But if anyone wants great food while in middlefield, stop by Mary Yoder's restaurant. Its all homemade amish food, and i promise you will not leave dissapointed. (just dont go on sundays, because the amish are off and the restaurant is closed)

MY's is one of our favorite restaurants for just good, down-home eats...I swear you gain 10lbs when you order the "family style"????

Their chicken noodle soup is one of the best I've ever slurped

The cheese factory on 87 is where we frequent the most. Like to stop there after going to the End of the Commons store in Mesopotamia. Good stuff.
