Pitching staff should be elite. The offense will produce as the Indians do, but I'm guessing that's what you were looking for here.

Just kind of worked out that way. Grady was my first round pick, no bias there. I expect Choo to have a monster year. Peralta was the best SS there. I waited a while on Victor. Hafner was an accidental pick, as he was queued up and my draft froze. I was taking him anyway, but much later.

I really like your pitching staff. 2 nice front end starters (and Shields is no slouch either), 2 solid closers for saves, 2 solid middle relievers for holds, and Banks, Baker, Gutherie, and Buehrle are nice additions.

You got a nice mix of speed and power for offense too. If Hafner makes it back and Choo has the campaign we all hope he has, you will be sitting pretty.

I've gotten three more teams since, all Yahoo leagues.

20 team H2H league. No bench. 19th pick in a snake format.

R, H, HR, RBI, SB, BB, K, E, AVG, OBP, SLG, XBH/IP, W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/BB, K/9, OBPA, H/9, BB/9

C: B. Molina
1B: Blake
2B: J. Lopez
SS: Y. Escobar
3B: Beltre
OF: Werth
OF: Cust
OF: Choo
UTIL: Hafner
UTIL: Kubel

SP: Hamels
SP: Halladay
SP: Lee
SP: Blackburn
RP: Soria
RP: Hoffman
RP: Perez
P: Brocail
P: Guerrier
P: Delcarmen
P: D. Bush

All the hitters went in such a hurry, I had no choice but to go after pitching. I did wind up with probably six 20-HR guys, but I'm going to need some help in AVG, H, and R. Should be good for OBP and SLG.

I made this league myself after I saw somebody else with the idea. I thought it was cool, so I went more in depth with it.

14 team points league. SP, RP, RP, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL, DL, DL

W 5; CG 10; SHO 20; SV 3; ER -1; BB -.5; K 1; HLD 3; NH 50; PG 100; QS 2; BSV -3

SP: Sabathia
RP: Broxton
RP: Balfour
BN: Lester
BN: Nolasco
BN: R. Johnson
BN: Saunders
BN: Perez
BN: Galarraga
BN: Blackburn
BN: Owings
BN: Litsch
BN: Dotel

Have to get a minimum of 40 points per week or you are out and your players get released to FA.

8 team H2H league. R, HR, RBI, SB, TB, AVG, OPS, XBH, OFA/W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/9, IRA, QS

C: Martinez
1B: Votto
2B: Utley
3B: Wright
SS: Escobar (Drew taken one pick before me)
OF: Markakis
OF: Choo
OF: Ellsbury
UTIL: A. Gonzalez
BN: Barmes
BN: Nady

SP: Halladay
SP: Beckett
RP: Lidge
RP: Wood
P: Perez
P: Hoffman
P: Balfour
BN: Lester
BN: Danks
BN: R. Johnson

In Yahoo, if you sort the players section by the rank column, it shouldn't make your head explode. It ranks them depending on the unique settings for that league. You can also sort remaining players by each stat column in the live draft. That's why I only do live drafts. Pre-ranking is a nightmare.

I am the first to admit. When you win this leauge two years running, it is tough to still have good keepers. Thank your lucky stars that Fuentes went AL. Might have been the biggest FA move all winter as far as this league is concerned.

Good thing I am the best in the business at the auction though. Over/under on how many guys I get and a week later the rest of you humps are wondering how that happened is 5.

Since the only thing that matters for starters is strikeouts, I will take my chances sarting my rotation with Wainwright, Sanchez and Scherzer for $8. Gives me plenty of $$$$ to center my offense around Manny.

You're going to be lacking in wins from the starting position, no doubt. No bench for hitters? You have no backups at 2B, SS, or 3B. You should be good in quality starts, that's for sure. You're going to rack up the XBH. Are there any free agent closers available?

The bench spots are free to whatever and I went with all pitching based on the fact I didnt have a clear cut # 1 starter. Not much available on the closer front but will keep an eye open. With the top tier starters gone quick and low ranked guys off the board early I kept taking hitters (Bay in the 7th, Crawford in the 9th).

I'd make a decision on Cueto or Volquez and pick up someone like Clint Barmes, 2B/3B/SS.

Unless you can make a trade for a better player with 2B/3B or 2B/SS eligibility, then yes. You're already stacked at the SP position, but are going to lose at least two or three days on those offensive positions because you have no bench.

I guess I'd cut Scherzer first since it probably isn't a keeper. But still, Volquez/Cueto are only good for 10-12 wins, a 4.30-4.50 ERA, a 1.4-1.5 WHIP. They are worth more in leagues with periphery stats like K/9 and K/BB. Bad ballpark for pitchers, a mediocre team, and some control issues.

Not to mention, only two SP spots. You'll probably have days where Lester, Hernandez, Cueto/Volquez, and Billingsley all pitch on the same day. Yeah, you have the P slots, but a starter getting rocked can severely blow your ERA and WHIP.

Love the sticks. You have plenty of power, speed, and average. I don't see any weaknesses at all.

Rotation

Lincecum (2)
Josh Johnson (14)
Ted Lilly (18)
Chris Carpenter (19)
Clayton Kershaw (17)
Ubaldo Jimenez (20)
Manny Parra (22)
Oliver Perez (23)

Very serviceable. I think Kershaw's going to have a monster year. Carpenter's a good crapshoot pick. Not sure about Oliver Perez. What are the 5 P categories again in a default league?

Bullpen
Joe Nathan (7)
Mike Gonazales (16)

I don't expect Gonzalez to stay healthy. It's possible that you might want to find somebody with another dominant SP that might need a closer and sacrifice saves altogether. If you can add 1.5 W and 10-15K each week by getting another solid starter, it'll be well worth losing the point for saves each week.

Bench

Felipe Lopez (elig. everywhere but catcher) (24)
Melvin Mora (25)
Rick Ankiel (21)

Solid. You've got everything covered.

W, S, K, ERA, WHIP.

Not sure about him either. Think someone took my guy right before this and I was bitter, taking the next guy on the list. Dump. Include him in a trade if he gets off to a 3-0.

Come on. He stayed healthy once, I think. Gotta feel this league out. Couple of guys loaded up with like 4 closers. Not sure if they are looking for trade chips, or just want to dominate. It is a daily lineup, and you can start up to 6 guys on any day. Not sure how it will play out, but punting saves is a possibility.

The only thing I really see, Rich, is that I'd try to get someone else with 1B eligibility. I don't know if Huff can repeat his 2008. Keep an eye on Jeff Baker if he gets traded to a team where he'll get some at bats. If your hitters hit to their potential, you've got 7 or so 20 HR guys.

Love the top 5 SP. I think Verlander will bounce back. The depth 4, not so much. Adenhart's solid, so is Zimmermann. Olsen and Cahill, idk. But, with a 16 team league, there can't be a whole lot left out there.

Thanks for all the info, I will keep Scherzer on a short lease because of his shoulder and inexperience. I am looking at a couple guys, including Barnes, for future pick ups. The league I am in is short in experience so I only have to worry about 1 or 2 other teams who would snag players from me.

I dont know about Verlander, he is had a tremendously bad spring and his velocity is down. Something along the lines of 14 walks to 6 K's or something like that.

Zimmermann is a solid pick though as he put up decent numbers last year while battling injury.

3B: Ryan Zimmerman, Mark Reynolds
SS: Stephen Drew
OF: Adam Dunn, Jason Bay, Nick Markakis, Jay Bruce, Travis Snider

RP: Matt Lindstrom
