Baby Bull/Juan Manuel Sat Night

Unread postby swerb » Mon Feb 23, 2009 10:03 pm

Gonna be at Great Wolf Lodge with the family this weekend. Improbably, they have like 30 cable channels there but no HBO. I refuse to miss this fight, also anxious to see Chris John beef.

Any websites gonna have it live?

Also ... great edition of The Fight Fans tonight. Iole was awesome. Love that guy.

This website is awesome. Even get the HBO announcers.

Should be a great main event. I got Juan Manuel winning a close unanimous decision.

I love Diaz and want him to win but if I was a betting man I would go JMM
It should be awesome.
5 minutes to go.

Bottom line, these are two of the most likable fighters in the sport. Both guys insist on fighting the best every fight, which you gotta respect. Baby Bull doesn't lose that decision to Campbell and this is hyped as a fight between two of the top five lb for lb fighters in the sport.

A shame some one is going to have to lose this one tonight.

Chris John is a nice fighter. Juarez, solid, good guy ... just not good enough to beat any of the elite. Fighting a good fight tonight, just not enough.

Bullshit decision yet again.
John won 8 out of 12 rounds.
A joke.

Rocky Juarez's career stays on life support.

Marquez is the best fighter in the world.
I had him beating Manny both times and tonight he put on a remarkable show.

Love how he called out Mayweather, said Manny won't fight him and he wants to fight the best.

Why not call out Mayweather?
There is nobody really close to his class right now.
I would love to see it but no way in hell it happens.

That was my kind of fight. The ref broke them apart twice. They were just trading bombs and Marquez showed me a lot withstanding that early barrage and then making the perfect in-fight adjustments. Almost every round ended with a standing ovation. It was a beauty of a sight to see.

Marquez has a great chin. Hes been knocked down several times before, including 2x in the first round of one of the Pac Man fights. But it is tough to hurt that cat. Looked like Diaz was headed to a 4th or 5th rd KO early.

He looked like hell around the 3rd/4th round, but once he cut Diaz in the 5th or 6th, whichever it was, he just completely took over. I was really impressed. That was reminiscent of Hopkins taking Pavlik to school, just without the lame ass holding and grabbing.

Manny actually knocked him down 3 times in the first round of the first fight and he was a mess.
He came back in in my opinion won that fight.
There is no quit in him and he continues to amaze.
