During the 2nd Quarter of the Utah/ Boston game Garnett went down with a right ankle injury. It looks like he can't put any pressure on it at all. Might be a little premature but it looked bad.

Kevin Garnett left Thursday's game with an apparent right leg injury during the second quarter.

He looked gimpy throughout the two plays prior to the one he left on, and hopped on one foot to the locker room with the assistance of trainers. We will update this blurb when we get a report, but his return to the game is in question.

After watching it I don't think anyone can come to any conclusions. i will say this, that the stretch tehy have up until they play us in 2 weeks just got real interesting.

Sucks having an old team. Was bound to happen sooner or later to either KG or Allen; playing a 110 game season as a 32-year old the year before takes its toll especially when you've had to play massive minutes carrying a crappy team for the preceding decade.

Yup. They only beat us last year because they had HCA. On the road, those little bullying moves by KG turn into cheap fouls. That team relies on intimidation, and that tactic doesn't work so well away from the Garden.

Garnett returned Friday to Boston after injuring the knee on the team's West Coast trip. Celtics spokesman Jeff Twiss says Saturday that team doctor Brian McKeon diagnosed the muscle strain after tests and an MRI.

"Rest and ice for KG," Celtics president Danny Ainge told The Boston Globe.

Garnett injured his knee while going up for an alley-oop late in the first half of Boston's 90-85 loss to the Utah Jazz on Thursday. He landed gingerly and immediately motioned to the bench for a substitute.

After the game, the team decided to send him back to Boston as a precaution when the soreness in his knee persisted. The Celtics play in Phoenix on Sunday.

Boston might pick up free agent forward-center Mikki Moore, who was cut by Sacramento, or Oklahoma City forward Joe Smith if he is ever waived, the Globe reported.

This opens up a huge window for Cleveland. providing Boston loses some games without KG. I can see the Celtics losing to Phoenix tomorrow and Denver next week on the second night of a back to back. Then Cleveland HAS to beat them at their place on the 6th. Obviously the Cavs can't go losing to anyone in the mean time. The Celtics are still going to be a tough team even without the ticket. They still have plenty of good players and the league is shite this year. Hopefully the Cavs can grab a hold of the top seed in the East as a result of this injury to Garnett. I truly believe the Cavs can take even a full strength Boston team with home court addy in the playoffs.

Bottom line - doesn't matter whose healthy or not. Screw the rest of the league, if we lose focus of what we have to do ourselves - we're done. Every team plays 82 games. The next west coast swing should be doable. Don't get caught bitchin at the refs or looking ahead - TAKE CARE OF YOUR OWN BUSINESS! The ONLY thing the Cavaliers need to be thinking about today, Feb. 22, is the Detroit Pistons. Charlie Vilanueva may just have given this team the kick in the ass that they needed when they needed it.
