Most unsettling thing about Mangini so far...

Unread postby twdelaney34 » Thu Feb 05, 2009 9:11 pm

From ESPN.com's James Walker:

"Mangini also reportedly passed by Pro Bowl defensive tackle Shaun Rogers at a recent awards banquet without speaking. The Browns coach said Wednesday that he didn't notice him."

I mean, really? I know we have a lot of thread complaining about this guy. But, I mean...I don't know, I am just speechless.
"The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind."

WHat are you speechless about? As he said, "Two Destroyers passing"

Why is this such a big deal to people? It is not like Rogers was wearing his jersey so that Mangini would know who he was.

I'd have been more upset if he did Josh Cribbs that way.

Mine was more of a joke, as in how the hell do you know who a 380 pound DT is? But, point taken Madre.

I thought the funny part about this was the explanation he gave at the press conference. That was that whole line about the two destroyers, and then he mentioned that Rogers should go hang out with Kris Jenkins at the Pro Bowl. That seemed to be the biggest (no pun) NFL coaching non sequiter that I've seen in a while.
"Paul Hubbard for the Practice Squad" publicity game: Contestants are run to Berea in the middle of the night and spray paint their name and address on a window at the Browns' office. First person arrested gets to make a public announcement outside the courthouse that Paul Hubbard must be given a spot on the Browns' practice squad for the 2009 season.

I also heard he likes to kick puppies and tease homeless people. The most unsettling thing I've heard about him so far is that he's not named any of his children after anyone from the Browns organization.

Anyone hear about the mural that was painted over?

Because you apperantly do not know what the exact quote was. He was saying it is hard to believe they missed each other because Rogers and Mangini are both so large, like destroyers.

The part about Jenkins was to talk to have Rogers talk to him and be reassured about Mangini not dissing him. I would assume he and Jenkins got along quite well in NY.

When you think of Mangini. What does he have to do, to make the Browns a winning team?

That is what you have to remind yourself, each time you read a head line to a media article.
I enjoy this stuff.
