Best Indians Games of 2006-2008

Unread postby sauce » Fri Jan 30, 2009 4:00 pm

So, it's the off season and I need some baseball.

I logged on to mlb.tv and figured out how to download old games, but it only dates back to the 2006 season ( I wanted to download August 31, 2004 vs the Yankess :thumb up: .. but nope)

Anyways, I started downloading game 2 of the 2007 ALDS, (Yankees + bugs = :lmfao: )

So what are some other games worth getting?

There was a game in 07 between the Tribe and Tigers that I think went extra innings and ended on a Delucci single up the middle. I think the final was 13-12.

I believe it was the same night as the Cavs-Pistons game 5 in the eastern finals.
What a night for the city.

I was in Michigan late may in 2007 as well, caught the third game of a 3 game sweep of the Tigers at Comerica, it was amazing. Garko and Blake hit HR's, Fausto started and the Cavs Pistons series was just getting started I believe

Peralta hits a 2-run homer in the 8th off of Zumaya to tie the game, Casey wins it with a walk off homer in the 11th.

The Tigers were still within striking range going into that series, but once Jhonny tied the game I felt for sure that the Indians would win and go on to make the post season. I still have a picture of him rounding the bases with his fist in the air on my desktop.

i would think that the 22-0 win over the yankees would be a good game to watch, if that's all you want to watch is nothing but tribe scoring all the time.

August 30th, 2007

We play the Mariners in a makeup game (of the infamous Hargrove snowout game). We are JUST starting to pull away from the Tigers (we are about 4 games up) and are in the middle of a eight game winning streak.

Laffey pitches well and the Tribe build a 3 run lead. Perez AND Borowski both blow saves. But then the Seattle Mariner coach inexplicably brings in some of his worst bullpen arms to end the game.

The end of the game is hilarious.

I was thinking of this game as soon as I read the thread title. I remember screaming and dancing around at like 1am. Woke up half the building.

Check out the 8/11 - 8/13 KC series in 2006, including a rare walkoff bases-loaded triple by Grady Sizemore.

Same here - that was my first thought. Easily the best Cleveland, of any team, game I've ever been to. 6/1/07 was probably the best.

Also, 9/17/07. This game was really the beginning of the end for the Tigers - Peralta hits two huge HR's to keep it close, and Casey Blake wins it with a walk-off HR to left.

I'm only sure how to do it on a mac, but my girlfriend has a windows computer that I may be able to figure it out on if you are interested.

I believe 9/23/07 was the date that we clinched the Central.

Also, October 14, the extra innings ALCS game against Boston.

October 5, the bug game against the Yankees.

Definitely June 1 as others have said.

July 4, 2006 when we drubbed the Yankees at home, 19-1. Westbrook was on the bump.

I think July (might be June) 29, 2007 was Big Ben's walk-off against Tampa Bay on Rock N Blast night.

There's so many to pick from that magical 2007 season. I can't think of any others right now.

IMO, I would add the game 4 clincher to the games already mentioned, especially if you could mute the TBS guys and dub Hamilton over the video :thumb up: . But seriously, that game had all the drama- Borowski giving up upper deck strikes- it was the clincher, final game of Torre's Yankee career and final playoff game in Yankee stadium history were losses to the Tribe. Watching them celebrate in the dead silence of Yankee Stadium was almost as great as if they won the series at the Jake. Almost.

It was the night after Game 5, night before the clinching Game 6.

Not a good couple days if you are a Detroit fan.

Another fun game was July 2, 2007 against the Rays. Grady hit a grand slam for his 500th career hit and the place went WILD. It was a great game to be at.

Oh geez I totally forgot about this game as well.

I turn to my buddy (by the way this was a fireworks night...always try to get a seat along the firstbase line...it was amazing), and say (20 bucks Grady hits this out) and pull out my phone to record it...after two pitches I, for whatever reason, put my phone away - next pitch - CRACK.

Figures.

There was just something about it - when you saw the scoreboard graphic that he was at 499 career hits, and he's up with the bases loaded, it felt like EVERYONE in that place just knew that he was going to hit it out. It was amazing.

The entire game was fun as well, I believe the Indians won 8-0;

This was one of my favorites as well. I remember telling my girlfriend that Peralta was one of the least clutch players on the team at the time....he shut me up in a hurry! Great opposite field power...when he stays inside of the baseball, he can really get hot.

The June 1, 2007 Delucci walk-off game was great. I was at that game, but, embarrassingly, I left before it was over to drink some cheap whiskey, and I watched the comeback from the Nauti Mermaid. I knew at that moment the season was going to be special.

I'd say the whole ALDS series against the yankees in 2007. That was the best series the Indians have played in a decade.

Are playoff games available on there? I may sign up just to rewatch that series.

Joba freaking out with the bugs, while Carmona stares right through them and strikes out Arod. Kenny with the clutch hitting. Just a fantastic series.

Yes they are, but if you don't want to sign up, game 4 is available for $2 on iTunes... much better quality too. I wish they had the whole series though.
