auto refresh

Unread postby Ziner » Tue Jan 27, 2009 10:58 pm

Swerb,

is it possible to get the message board home page to auto refresh every 30 seconds or something. Seeing as I have it up most of the day at work, it would be nice

Just a thought

Ive thought about it ... figured it would jack people up that were reading long threads, or taking some time to peruse the forum lobby

And, on top of what Rich said, it will suck down the bandwidth like crazy...

out of curiousity, what purpose would auto refresh serve? everytime you click on something it refreshes, no?

When I am sitting at work I can see when someone posts instead of bothering to refresh. I have dual monitors at work so all day one half of my computer is TCF, just dont tell my bosses. Dual monitors are supposed to allow us do more work. It allows me to do work while monitoring TCF non stop

Best thing to do, is get a good desktop RSS reader.....Set it to update every 10 mins or so....

Or, do like Mike (me.. :dingle: ..) and use My Yahoo as your homepage with the RSS reader built into it........I think I have it updating every 30 mins....I have about 7-8 sites on it now, displaying the very latest from them all........the page refreshes itself every 15 (Another setting)

I also load up my site with RSS (TribeTown, in my sig).....another way I keep up on Indians stuff....

RSS rocks! :yessss:

Put in all your favorite sites, and you won't miss anything......

I like it. :hic:
