Interesting comments on why he felt a coach hire was more important now than a GM. Felt coach was needed now to get going and set up his staff before those people went elsewhere. Also that GM duties more around FA and Draft, so not as time sensitive. Said they are going to interview more GM candidates, some that are still in the playoffs some that are not.

Also, after Triv asked about it, he admitted to immediately being fascinated with mangini when he was told during the private press conference last week that he was fired. For those that don't know, during the presser a media person mentioned Mangini was available and Lerner glowed and almost looked like he was going to jump out of his chair with excitement. Anyway, Randy said he was so excited because "it is an anamoly to get a head coach just starting out his pro career with 2 of 3 winning seasons".

My opinion of RL is that he is one of us. A fan. Someone that bases his information on what he reads and what he hears on talk radio. I think he kind of knows what it takes to make a winning team (chemistry, everybody on the same page) but doesn't have a clue on how to make that happen.
