So now that we are down to the wire, how are your teams goin

Unread postby Ziner » Mon Nov 24, 2008 6:54 pm

I have 3 leagues had the 2nd, 4th and 6th picks respectively.

in the leagues where I picked 2nd and 4th I am in first place with the points lead locked up playoff births and at worst the 2 seed.

in the league I picked 6th I am in 2nd, while 3rd in points. Can lock up the 2 seed with a win next week or more points with a loss than the guy in 3rd.

If I have a bye in all 3 leagues 6 team playoffs in 2 4 team in the 1 so no bye. I will only have to compete week 15 and 16. Hopefully I could win one of the leagues. It'd be nice if somehow I go 6-0 and pulled them all 3 off, but beggars cant be choosers. I'd be happy with 3-0 the first week so I am guaranteed some cash and see how it falls from there. Itd be fun to have 3 teams in the playoff finals going in to the last week.

Team I picked 4th

Cutler, Cassel, Forte, TJ, Addai, LJ, Andre Johnson, Boldin, TO, Colston, Shockey, Carlson

Team I picked 2nd

Rosenfels, Delhomme, AP, Chris Johnson, JLew, Fargas Fitzgerald, Steve Smith, Chambers, Winslow, Owen Daniels

Team I picked 6th

Garrard, Rosenfels, Barber, AP (via trade), Fargas, McFadden, Edwards, Boldin, Santonio Holmes, Scheffler, Carlson

Just to give a little idea of what the teams look like. My teams are so diverse I feel like it will be hard to win them all in the playoffs because I will be playing against some of my own guys in other leagues. Although last year I won both of my leagues needing LT to score between 18-25 points the last game because I was playing and playing against him and he pulled in like 21 or something. Worked out well... good luck to all you guys and hope all your proceeds from winnings go to xmas ale.
In the end, we're all "only for a limited time," you guys.

I'm 3rd in total points in my league, but tied for 5th, so there's a decent chance I won't make the playoffs. Just kinda how it goes sometimes I guess.

Braylon (and DA) has hurt me quite a bit, but wasting the 5th rounder on Palmer probably was the worst move. Actually come to think of it, all my AFC North picks were bad - Braylon, Palmer, and Willie Parker.

As per the other thread in the NFL forum I'm 2nd in the TCF Orange Division in points while tying for the 4th best record at 7-5. Matchups are looking to be in my favor for the 1st playoff game that if I win, puts me in the money. Rode my horses all year, AP and Anquan Boldin. Had the #1 QB, WR, and TE and the #3 RB and #2 DEF.

Warner, Garcia (had both Palmer and Kitna who went down rather quickly, recovered very nicely)
AP, Jones-Drew, JLewis, Chester Taylor, L. Washington
Boldin, H. Ward, Matt Jones, Breaston, Camarillo (being dropped soon)
T. Gonzalez
Baltimore DEF
Fuck the Browns...

Only the final 4 get paid, so you have to win 2 without the bye.

The only league I'm in this season is a public Yahoo league. I had the 2nd pick (A-Pete!), but I'm in 4th place even though I have the most points scored in the league. I'd be even better if my second round pick wasn't Braylon :(

EDIT - now that I posted that, I had to go back and look at my draft. Only 10 of these picks are still on my team.

Akron 69ers
1. (2) Adrian Peterson
2. (19) Braylon Edwards
3. (22) Jamal Lewis
4. (39) Michael Turner
5. (42) Antonio Gates
6. (59) Hines Ward
7. (62) Matt Hasselbeck
8. (79) Jay Cutler
9. (82) Donald Driver
10. (99) Santana Moss
11. (102) Fred Taylor
12. (119) Bobby Engram
13. (122) Baltimore
14. (139) Neil Rackers
15. (142) L.J. Smith

Nice draft, Cutler, Moss, Driver all late round values. Imagine how sweet your team would be if you got Fitzgerald/Boldin/Steve Smith etc instead of Edwards and hell forget JLew since Turner has been so good. Dont worry I took Edwards in the 2nd too and Lewis in the 3rd in another.

All four of my fantasy teams are in the Final Four this weekend. White knuckle Sunday for me.

3 leagues. In the semis in 2 of them. Most of the action in both games will be Sunday (couple players littered on Thurs and Mon night).

Send the wife shopping? With my Visa? Might have to.

My worst league:

Won my first 11 games, then proceeded to lose the final two regular season games, and the first game of the playoffs. :gah:

In other words, regular season don't mean diddly-squat.

All 4 of my Final 4 games still hanging in the balance, a very stressful Sunday. All 4 likely to come down to the Browns/Eagles game tomorrow night.

Advanced to the finals of the TCF league with a thumping of Lubber today.

Second league. Down 9. Playing against Witten. Have McNabb tomorrow.

3 Leagues:

Missed playoffs in #1
Won #2
Need 7 points out of Greg Olsen and Robbie Gould tonight to claim a second title.

Not to mention, run my post season winning streak to 13 games.

Back to back baseball titles, 6 straight wins.
TCF league, 3 straight
2 out of 3 titles in my third football laegue, but missed the playoffs in the off year, 4 straight wins.

DeAngelo Williams kicked me in the balls in all 3 of my leagues...

Two weeks ago in the first round of the playoffs I had a 26 pt lead going into Monday night and that's when Williams broke the final play for 68 yds because Tampa's D was already on the bus...it was the only situation in which I could lose and lose I did

In my other 2 leagues I played in our championship this past weekend and I had 28 & 29 pt leads going into last night's game when friggin Williams scored enough times in the first half to crush me once again

The sad thing is I had Williams in 2 of these leagues and traded him in week 7 after he had his first good game of the season...who would have known that he would be THE fantasy stud the rest of the way...I called it in these posts when it seemed like everyone was so high on JStewart this year instead on DAW and I didn't heed to my own advice :gah:

Ask Matt Forte's big toe.

The two QB's I drafted (Tom Brady, Alex Smith) played one quarter all year. But I used smoke and mirrors to go 8-6-1, get into the playoffs, and now the championship game. But I'm 40 points behind and my only remaining player (Forte) is riding the pine.

Dang it!!! I won this league (same 10 guys) nine years ago but not since.

Wait til next year...

Short lived excitement... lost to the ass who had D. Williams. Benched Cassell at the last minute for Cutler, cost me 6 points...
