Olives and Tomatoes... other than that I am good on about everything

I like ketchup, pasta sauce and salsa but the texture of fresh tomatoes makes me want to vomit. I cant even eat some salsas if they arent pureed enough
In the end, we're all "only for a limited time," you guys.

I am absolutely, 100% with you. So many people can't understand the issue with texture.

Actually, it's corm, not corn. It's the bulbish part of whatever plant that stuff is made of that's soaked in water to make it whatever color it is. I thought it was more a Hawaaian condiment than anything else.

* Soft apples (it's about texture as much as flavor -- I need that solid crunch)
* Tomatoes (agree 100% with upthread comments re: tomatoes vs. sauce/salsa/etc.)
* Any salad dressing -- the smell alone makes me nauseous
* Mustard, mayonnaise, condiments like that
* Sauerkraut (agree with Oktane)
* Pickles
* Olives
If it flies, floats, or fornicates, always rent it -- it's cheaper in the long run.

Sour Cream.

I can't think of anything better than venison tenderloin with fresh steamed brussel sprouts, asparagus and cauliflower. Mmmmm....

Totally agree with this take. Fresh tomatoes overpower whatever they are on/in and the smell is just nauseating.

In addition, I find Celery to be the most vile thing on the planet. The smell, taste, and texture is just revolting in ways I cannot describe without the use of graphs or charts. Plus I am allergic to it, handling it for a long time make my damn skin break out. Learned that the hard way working in a produce department as a youth.

I agree with all the tomatoe bashing! I love ketchup, salsa(has to be doctored with spices/not natural), diced/pureed with basil, tomato soup, etc.

I hate....cauliflower, green olives, salmon, braylon edwards...oops, wrong thread.

I never knew I had so many brethren who also hated the disgusting tomatoes. Does it get any worse when they put it on your burger bun and it gets all the juice on it and those little nasty seeds are soaked in to the bun... I really try to like them I try them every summer and everytime i gag. People have always told me I am weird for not liking them.... I feel like a new man.

There are certainly ones you guys have that I find hilarious... FUDU desserts? you hate desserts...never heard of anyone who was allergic to celery sorry to hear that man... Diminishing, the salad dressing one I find weird, but that is why I started this, I think it is interesting.

Others I thought of:

I hate the white shit on oranges, i love oj, but that shit when you eat them grosses me out
Liver and Onions, my parents were cruel
Cherry pie - hate the flavor
artificial flavored Bubble gum anything, besides bubble gum. I blame dentists
Scallops
In the end, we're all "only for a limited time," you guys.

Wow, I'm shocked to see so many tomato haters?!?!?! IMO, nothing like a fresh beefsteak out of garden in the summer (although I don't like them on burgers)

I can eat most anything, but here's a few that go way back to my childhood:

Beets (my mother used to tell me they were cranberries & I'd almost puke)
Liver (our whole house used to smell like death when she would make this)
Kiebasi (I'd rather have an Aldi's frank over this crap)
Anise Cookies (sugar only please)
Cool Whip (why ruin a perfect dessert with a bunch of creamy jizz?)

I've got a cousin the exact same way. He and I worked in the fields (sugar cane) growing up in the summers and he would bring a tomato that he would eat like an apple mid-morning of every day. Absolutely disgusted me every day.

Count me in on the no raw tomato brigade.

Love tomatoes cooked ... even cut up small with some garlic, oil, and spices on bruschetta. But just cannot do raw tomato slices. Can't comprehend how people eat them on sandwiches and burgers.

Will eat just about everything else.

Good point on the freshness of seafood, and I'd add that the species and habitat really makes a difference too (freshwater or saltwater, water-depth, etc). My personal favorite is fried speckled trout. Freshwater fish but caught in deeper waters so you don't have the tendency to get a muddy taste that you would with shallow-freshwater fish.

Fish (and I'm sure seafood as a whole) cover a wide range as far as taste goes.

This is key. I've always liked it, but now it's become a staple of the weekly menu since I moved so close to the water. It's to the point now where the way it's cooked (medium-rare) is more important then the meat itself.

That's the thing Rob ... I absolutely love tomatoes in any other form than raw slices. It's weird. Love them raw in salsa, bruschetta. Love tomato slices cooked on pizza. Use mass quantities of fresh tomatoes in my homemade pasta sauce.

Still have never tasted a salsa better than Dawn's.

Pickles. Can't stand the smell. I can't have it anywhere near my plate/food.

Crab legs also, because I can't have them anymore since my head blew up from a reaction. They were my favorite thing to eat for years and one day it was all ruined. A few guys on here might remember that day.

Good call. I've got a pretty good recipe for grilling redfish on the scales on the pit with breadcrumbs and tiger sauce (link below). Unbelievable. I'd say 90% of the fish I eat is either specs or reds.

Actually I can hardly touch that shit either. I try it because people say it is so good, but I have yet to find a fish I like, Lobster sucks, clams, all that stuff tastes like slimey salt-water goo. I can handle fried shrimp, but that shrimp cocktail shit grosses me out

Years ago, my wife's aunt and uncle took us to a raw seafood bar in Florida. Grossest stuff I've ever looked at... and I tried to eat some of that crap. I would eat dog food before I would eat that crap. I would rather starve. Ugh.

Mushrooms
Lima beans
This stuff called Kimchee that my dad loves (I think it's Thai maybe?) It smells like death.
Onions and onion rings

I'm with you guys on the importance of texture. I am ok with fresh tomatoes on sub sandwiches if they "crunch" when I chew them. But a cooked tomato or a tomato that's been sitting on a burger for 10 minutes and they combine to form some sort of soggy squishy mass???? No thank you.

I will not under any circumstances eat beets or drink root beer.

There are many foods that I would not eat as a child that I will now eat: peanut butter, tomatoes (I really like grape or cherry tomatoes), olives (have them puréed on a pizza).

Not a big fan of celery, I’ve never chosen to eat it, but will not pick it out if served to me. Same approach to pickles.

I will not eat any fruit/vegetable a second past ripe.

Root Beer?
Every once in a while, an ice cold mug of Root Beer hits the spot.

Why does that sound like something you discovered at Iggy's cafeteria?

$2000 to go there in 77 and they serve you imitation food, classy.
