Corleones (in Parma)

Unread postby swerb » Mon Dec 01, 2008 5:47 pm

Had a lunch there last week, my first time ever going there. Had heard good things.

Amazing Italian food. Very nice inside. Was blown away.

Like Davotinos in Mentor, a hidden gem for great homemade paizan food.

Davotino's in Mentor is very good. But.......if you drive a little further down mentor avenue you will find the best Italian in town, Casa de Angelo.

Lived in Mentor for 10 years, ate at both joints many, many times.

Both good, still prefer Davotinos.

Im a sucker for places that make the veal parm so big they gotta serve the pasta on another plate. And the homemade Italian dressing there ...

Both places are dynamite. They both beat Mama Robertos by a long shot. You will get enough food to feed yourself for a week, but the quality is crap. Might as well save the trip to mentor, and just buy giant eagle noodles and Ragu.

With a name like Corleone's my Irish ass is afraid to even go in there.

+1, Davintinos is solid but nothing will ever compare to the old spaghetti co. on 91 in Mayfield. The wine barrel booths................I miss that place

I remember that place, they did have good food. Where exactly was it again in Mayfield? If memory serves me right, it was on the corner of Wilson Mills and 91 where Yours Truely and CVS are today.

Used to go to The Spaghetti Company in Mayfield all the time as a kid with my family. Loved it there. They had the booths in the huge wine barrels. A lot of fond memories of my youth spent there. Great food, atmosphere, and service.

And yeah ... it moved to the Holiday Inn Mayfield IIRC. And was a shell of it's former self.
