Glad to see we have an old GCC matchup in Mentor vs. South.

Madison may want to just remain on their bus. For any number of reasons. Ooof.

I don't follow HD football as closely as most. I'm sure I will more as my kids get older. But some intriguing matchups, even to the casual observer.

Holy War rematch in the first round .... winner getting Glenville. Glen Oak/McKinley too.

Old GCC matchup in Mentor/South. With Euclid potentially awaiting the winner.

Good to see Twinsburg in the playoffs, anyone know anything about Amherst Steele?

Which of the Cincinnati powers is the one that emerges from the bottom this year? Any other predictions from those of you that follow HS football closely?

Colerain and Moeller might put a few people in the stands down in Cincy?

This is usually Mentor's time of the year. And now that the playoffs are here, can Coach Ginn from Glenville get the playoff "choke" label off him and his team?
"It's all about winning for me, and I think the Cavs are committed to doing that," he said. "But at the same time I've given myself options to this point, and like I said before, me and my team, we have a game plan that we're going to execute, and we'll see what we get."

I like Mentor in D1, Mayfield in D2 and Ursuline D5..........................even at D5 they may be the best overall team in the state. I hope the Hornets can pull off an upset but I wouldn't bet on it. If Kirtland can some how manage to win against Ursuline................. they win the state, and it would be the most cinderella type year of any team in NE Ohio. One thing I will say about the Hornets, they are friggen HUGE.

Iggy or Pickerington Central
Louisville, DeSales or Toledo Central Catholic
Clyde or Dover
Steubenville or Coldwater
Ursuline or Liberty Benton
Ada, Hopewell-Loudon, Hannibal River or Mechanicsburg

Those are my estimations...
Playing here is the closest thing to heaven. Really, I mean it's amazing to be in a place where the fans truly cherish their football team and stick behind them win or lose. We players love them, too. I feel a sense of accomplishment playing here, we are a special breed of football players with a great opportunity." ~ tOSU LB Brian Rolle

I have heard mixed reactions to Mayfield. Have heard they aren't as good as last year and their schedule was a bit down. That said, they certainly have talent and could come out of that region, after that though I can't see how they get past Louisville/DeSales, let alone whom they would face in the Finals.

I could be wrong though, Dozen what has been your assessment of them this year compared to last?

Hey guys...Ursuline really had to work LATE in the game to pull away from HTS. They are actually looking like their big schedule is wearing them down. They might be ripe for Gilmour's picking. Next week should be fun.

Ursuline didn't get on the board until the last few minutes of the 2nd quarter when they returned a punt for a score. HTS drove down with their first possession and scored easily it seemed.

One other note..the BIG guys for the Irish aren't exactly what you'd call athletes...more like plugs. They are still a tough team and still the team to beat in D-5....FOR NOW......

The team really prides itself on defense, yes it's cliche but that shit works when a team performs at a level and the results support it. 28 straight scoreless qtr's at any level will make you buy into defense wins games.

Ricky Finotti deserves a ton of recognition and respect as he is the master behind probably the top defense in the area this year! They have to keep it charged up for 4 more weeks!

My alma mater, North Canton Hoover, finally beat Massillon in the playoffs. Bring on Swerb's Twinsburg Tigers!
