King James Court - '08-'09 Rookie/FA Draft

Unread postby swerb » Tue Oct 14, 2008 6:46 pm

Welcome to season #6 of King James Court, Northeast Ohio's finest dynasty fantasy basketball league.

Draft order, new salary cap for this season, and the details on The Zeller Plan is listed below. Note, the primary positions for players currently on your team is the positions they played last year, regardless of what CBS has for their primary position this year. On players eligible in this draft, their primary positions are listed on the spreadsheet I sent out. Some players have multiple eligibility, and like guys currently on your team, you can pay $25 per player to switch them to their secondary position for the coming season. That will then be their position for the rest of the year. After the season starts, free agents you add will only be eligible at their primary positions, and that includes guys who owners paid $25 to change, then cut. One position per player.

Make your selections in this thread by clicking on "post reply" and entering your pick.

ALL TEAMS MUST BE AT 12 PLAYERS AND UNDER THE NEW SALARY CAP BY SUNDAY, OCTOBER 26 AT 12 MIDNIGHT.

NEW '08-'09 SALARY CAP

$54,871,425

THE ZELLER PLAN

Like the Sykes Doctrine, players '08-'09 positions will be determined by their present primary positions. To be more specific, the primary positions as of the first day of the 2008 KJC Playoffs. Here's the difference. For players with multiple eligibilty (as determined by the CBS website), teams can pay $25 before the season to use that player at the other position. This determination must be made three days prior to the start of next season and any changed players will stay at that position all season. All extra monies will be added to the prize pool. Any players who gain multiple eligbility next season, after the season starts, will NOT be able to be switched next year. The decision is to be made three days prior to the start of the season, and then all players are locked in at one position for all of next year.

It's gonna take a week or so, that's why we started it early.

Rudy Fernandez HaHaHaHa

Joe, do you know who Rudy fernandez is? 2.5 mil

"Fernandez will be a rookie only by name this season. He has played the last seven years in the Spanish ACB League, one of the most competetive in Europe and will be a real sleeper this seasosn as a player who can step right in and contribute. He could be this season's version of Jose Calderon. He's a point guard, but can also play off the ball and is a solid scorer. The Blazers will find a way to get him around 25-30 minutes per game and Fantasy owners should look to invest a late-round pick on him as a No. 4 or 5 guard who could very easily outperform his draft value."

"Fernandez had scored a team-high 15 points with seven assists and six steals prior to suffering the injury. Forget about the ankle injury. That does not seem to be something that will be an issue. Take a look at the type of production this "rookie" is capable of. He's a player in the mold of a Jose Calderon who can be productive right away if given playing time. Fernandez is expected to get plenty of minutes off the bench as the team's sixth man."

"Expect Brandon Roy to slide over to small forward and for Rudy Fernandez to start at shooting guard on opening night, with Batum coming off the bench behind Roy and then Travis Outlaw."

"Rudy Fernandez started for the Blazers on Wednesday and had 15 points, five rebounds, seven assists, six steals and three 3-pointers before leaving the game late with an ankle injury in a loss to the Warriors.

Wow! Keep in mind he got the start because Brandon Roy was out for precautionary reasons, while Martell Webster was also out with a foot injury. But this is the exact reason that Fernandez is on most sleeper lists out there. And if he wasn't on yours before now, he probably should be. Yes, he had six turnovers, but they're easy to over look given the rest of his line."

They're the only ones I haven't been able to contact. Don't want to get stuck on their pick forever here.

I have 2 emails for Russo, but don't have access to them until 6pm tonight.
Check the Doss site and see if it's listed there.

They're the only ones I haven't been able to contact. Don't want to get stuck on their pick forever here.

Have selections 15, 16, and 22 in the draft. All coming up soon, a lot of good players on the board. Will deal them for picks next season.

I hope the Husbands pick soon because I'm out of touch most of tomorrow.

Dick - if they don't pick tonight or first thing tomorrow I probably won't be able to pick until late tomorrow or Saturday (noon'ish).
