Favorite BBQ sauce

Cattleman's BBQ sauce is a great sauce. Very bold and a little hint of garlic. My all time favorite is Chili's Fire Pit Apple Cinnamon BBQ sauce with a Tbs. of Chilis Pit Rub...best sauce ever.

I use Stubbs or Sweet Baby Ray's normally, but if I am in or passing through Memphis I'll pick up some Rendezvous sauce.

Great thread. Used to be into SB Ray's but have found it too sweet lately. Too much hi fructose. Looking for some good ideas.

My wife is a Sweet Baby Ray's junkie. Little too sweet for me, especially after years of consumption of it.

Durkee has a great chicken/pork/rib rub that I've really grown to like. Massage that into all my grilled white meats. Hit it with a little orange peel and garlic salt.

Then, I've been using the Firehouse brand of BBQ they sell at Heinen's. They have a spicy hot variation. It's very good.

Wow, just too many to name because it changes for me constantly depending on what I'm eating and what flavor I'm looking for (hickory, sweet, hot, vinegar based, fruity, etc)

I agree with 4thQtr about CFP's Apple-Cinnamon being very good (definitely in my top 10)...some other top ones would be: Grumpy's Private Reserve (no salt added), Mr Spice's Tangy Bang, DL Jardine's Buckin' Berry, Paula Dean's Moppin' Sauce, Ole Ray's Apple Bourbon to name a few more great ones...

My favorite is probably Mad Anthony's Sauce...yes, this is made by ex-Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and some awesome stuff that goes with just about anything...his hot sauces and mustard are excellent as well...we live off of this stuff when in Cabo San lucas (wash it down with some Cabo Wabo or Pacifico!!!)...here's the link to order if you're interested (I buy the bbq sauce by the gallon):

Another very good sauce that I just came across is Old Canal Smokehouse's Sweet & Spicy...It's made in Chillicothe, Ohio and is available at Le Gourmet Chef's at Aurora Farms (not sure where else)...this stuff is the bomb

Sweet Baby Ray's is a good mainstream sauce, Regular Open Pit is a good major mainstream sauce and Quaker S&L's sauce are probably my favorite for a restaurant...

I agree, this is a great sauce. I tried it last time down in Cincinnati and fell in love with it. Really glad it's carried around here, I know Heinen's and Giant Eagle carry it.

Bayou Tribe.... I live down here in Memphis (unfortunately) and would be more than happy to pick up a bottle (or two) of Rendevouz BBQ sauce and ship it to you, if you like. I personally like Corky's or the Bar-B-Q Shop sauce but to each their own.

I appreciate the offer, but as of now I'm planning on being in town the week before Thanksgiving. The wife and I try to make it out there at least once a year. We really enjoyed our time living out in Cordova.

As for Rendezvous, the bbq pork nachos really hooked me. As far as total atmosphere, food, location, and music, my favorite spot was Rum Boogie. Then if the weather was nice you could stumble over to the patio at Silky's for drinks. Good times.

You guys gotta start to make your own. It takes no time at all and no skills what so ever except being able to chop some onions and dice fresh garlic. The rest of the stuff you probably already have in your fridge or cabinet - ketchup, yellow mustard, spicy brown mustard, worchestershire sauce, steak sauce, chilli sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, molasses. Beats the hell outta most everything I have tried in a bottle.
