Who to start in Week One?

I have one position that I'm going back and forth on this week:

Thomas Jones or Ricky Williams???

-Both opposing defenses sucked last year against the run, but look like they've improved a little this season
-RW at home with an extension should want to impress his new bosses for having confidence in him
-How much will the fins play RBrown? TJones should definately be the man in NY, but will probably be taken out on 3rd down
-Which team could take a big lead to eliminate the run of the other team? (although I like a close game throughout here)
-Favre could definately spread the field more than Pennington
-TJones had 2 nice games against the fins last season

I have this matchup at a coin toss right now and am thinking Jones might have less questions about him, but Williams night have the higher reward factor if ran all day...I play in a PPR/point per 15 yds rushing

Man, all depends on how many carries Ronnie Brown gets.

I like Thomas Jones this season. 1200 yds, 10-12 TDs IMO.

I would go with Jones. He is the safer pick, and the Jet playbook is likely to be conservative in Favre's first start against a team that can't stop the run.

Sparano came out this morning and said that Ronnie Brown is going to be a big suprise this year....so im assuming that he will touch the ball a lot.

Tough call, Ziner. I wouldn't bench LJ but I certainly see why you might this week. Usually I just go with the best back if one is clearly better than the other, and that seems to be the case for you this week.

Also agree - Thomas Jones should start this week because he's sure to get his carries. However, I don't believe for a second that Ronnie Brown's knee is healed to where it needs to be. I'd just wait to see how Ricky does in his first couple games back.

Yeah, I agree with everyone here. Jones is the safer pick who you know will get his carries. I think Williams is a great guy to have though, and could easily end up with a numbers than TJ at the end of the year. There is no way Ronnie Brown's knee is back to what it was, and Ricky has looked very good so far. Still, for this week, my vote is with Jones.

Like I said, definately a tough pick...in a PPR league then LJ is a must start...I'll take the better O-Line against a weaker D in a non-PPR though by a skoach

Got some steady rain early in the week from Gustav, but nothing too bad....Overcast and a bit chilly today - highs only in the 80s.

I didnt have any players going last night, but my opponent had Plax going last night. I was a bit worried in the first half after that torrid start. Just happy they kept him out of the endzone.

Im leaning more towards Roddy, especially since we dont know how much Brown is going to see the field.

DeSean Jackson vs STL

It is just real tough for me to start a guy (Jackson) I took so low over top choices like Evans and Burleson.

Evans has QB issues, Burleson might be the only healthy WR on the roster, and Jackson is a rook with a starting gig.

I'd wait to see what the rookie can do first before starting him although he has a nice matchup with the Rams secondary

With Evans, like you said, QB questions and hasn't done anything in 2 years...I see Buffalo using Lynch a lot in this one

I started TJones (like everyone recommended) along with MLynch and did pretty good...unfortunately CJohnson was the best on my bench

My problem in week one was my WR's...Housh & Holt did absolutely nada...Witten was good though...Brees was outstanding and I expect that every week

LJ is going to be a RB2 and nothing better all year. Addai will be fine. You have some good depth. See if you can get any kind of value for LJ

LJ is going to be a RB2 and nothing better all year. Addai will be fine. You have some good depth. See if you can get any kind of value for LJ
