Had the Grt Lakes Octoberfest. Not much of a fan. I get the feeling they are trying to put too much flava in it. I get no dominant taste and no discernable finish. The signal to noise ration is inverted from their good stuff. It's like a bad Phil Spectre song.
I am much more of a fan of what Sam Adams is putting out.
But, ahhhh, Nasferatu is on it's way ....

Yeah, I wasn't a huge fan. The aftertaste seemed much drier than their other beers. Only a couple months til Christmas Ale though.

give Goose Island Oktoberfest a try... it is pretty tasty. JB, you get your hands on some of that leinenkugels summer shandy yet? summers almost over it will be tough to find

You're drinking it too soon - it's only August. Official Munich Oktoberfest begins 20 September. It also helps if the beer is served properly

I can't bring myself to drink anything but the Imperial Dortmunder these last couple months.
