My subject is misleading: my time zone is right, and the clock is wrong. I'm GMT-6 (correct), and this post says it was made at 11:40 (incorrect, should be 12:40).

Change it to GMT (minus one hour less than it used to be). It did not change automatically. If you are really GMT -6 hours, change it to GMT -5 hours.
