QB Musical Chairs

Good piece by ESPN's Pasquarelli, commenting on what could be a very intriguing QB carousel this off-season.

Drew Brees, Chad Pennington, Daunte Culpepper, Brian Griese, and Aaron Brooks.

All five have been to a Pro Bowl, and the best could be yet to come with all five. They're all still young, and capable of giving a team 4-5 pretty damn good years. They all won't. But 1-2 of this group will end up prospering somewhere.

Each come with risks, or they wouldn't be available. Where do these guys end up?

Patrick Ramsey and David Garrard are likely to be dealt from Wash and Jax repsectively. Vince Young, Leinart, Jay Cutler are all set to be high picks in the NFL Draft.

Lets take a look at the current QB status of each of the 32 NFL teams ...

With the off-season just getting underway, any predictions on how the carousel shakes down this spring?

Its been said and reported that Farve is leaning toward retirement, so Greenbay will be an untested Rogers.

Carson Palmer may not be back until mid-year, if at all in 2006 with Kitna being a FA.

I've heard McNair to Miami rumors, which make sense.

Boy this is going to be very interesting........

I'd be very interested in landing Culpepper or Brees. Brees may fit this team better though. I'd be down with a Brees/Frye combo for the next several years.....

My $.02

Yogi is right...Favre is probably gone. It wouldn't surprise me to see Aaron Brooks in Packerland, and probably starting since I don't think Rogers has it.

Collins will probably start again for the Raiduhs.

From rumors I saw today, Harrington will start for the Lions, and Gaycia is gone.

Garrard will stay with Jax since Leftwich is so fragile.

Alex Smith will definitely start all year for the 9ers. They won't be that good anyway, so you have to give the #1 a full year behind center.

Tampa Bay may end up allowing Simms to be a free agent. I think they'd be stupid to do so, but don't be surprised. But either Simms or Griese will be available.

Brees and Culpepper will be the two major wildcards. If Brees were smart, he'd immediately take whatever offer Saban gives him and then plays right off the bat for a probable playoff team.

I'm making a wild assed guess that Griese goes to the Jets to start for a year or so, and they still end up drafting Jay Cutler at #4.

If Culpepper stays in Minnesota, the look for Brad Johnson to be with the Rats.
