Keep an on eye on Miguel Torres also, he's a wizard on the ground.

Who's tuning in to see Kimbo?
Any fans that aren't big into the sport just to "check it out" at all?

Sunday's main event is going to be awesome, the WEC puts on a great show.

I'm in. If anyone does not know of this dude, please check out YouTube. This guy serves up some serious backyard beatdowns that are well worth watching.

I am watching the undercard online right now and the ring annoucer, some lady, has the worst annoying voice I have ever heard.
It is hurting my ears, that is something they need to fix.

Im actually kinda excited for this tonight.

Dying to see someone fight with Kimbo after his first two fights with Elite were so underwhelming.

Baroni usually is exciting but gasses a lot.
The Smith vs Lawler fight should be a fireworks display, a slugfest.
I told Dick earlier, I might be in love with Gina Carano, a fighter and she's sexy as hell.
Kimbo is a freak of nature, hopefully Thompson puts up some sort of a challenge.

This guy can't call himself "The NY Bad Ass" anymore.

Just got his ass beat by a 35 year old guy with love handles.

So many new fans watching this tonight ... CBS really needs a good fight somewhere on this card.

Gus Johnson though ... love that guy.

Gus Johnson trains mma, that's how he got the gig.
I like him a lot for college hoops.

I think Baroni's entrance lasted longer than he did inside the cage. He deserved that beating. Hopefully the women will liven things up a bit, if not, Lawler sure as hell will. Looking forward to that one.

Chick fight was excellent. Just what CBS needed. Gina Carano's way too cute to be fighting though.

She'll bring tons of viewers in though. Elite's gonna throw a ton of cash at her if they're smart.

Someone punch him in the ear in the locker room?

Id love to see someone IQ test this THompson guy, he looks as dumb as a box of rocks.

Sacrificial lamb for Kimbo.

Unbelievable. What a horrible stoppage.

This MMA or lawn bowling?

Three times now, refs just dying to find a way for Kimbo to win. Shady as fuck. Elite needs Kimbo to win and it appears they've told the officials that.

Kimbo = average

Put this hyped up chump in the ring with someone real. Please. That was weak.

Was dying to see that dude's ear bleed for another 3-4 minutes.

Not a good night overall
Kimbo is thrash
Lawler and Smith could have been awesome.
Smith did tell the doctor he couldn't see so that stoppage was legit.

Man that Kimbo fight was "influenced." I smell a rat. XEC needs Kimbo (and Carano for that matter), and honestly, he was losing that fight and that stoppage was WEAK as fuck.

The whole fight was officiated "shady." They stood them up early in the fight when Thompson had side control after about 20 seconds due to inactivity. That is such a decisive position that there should never be a side control stand up, it would be a kin to standing em up with a guy fully mounted.

The fight could've been justifiable stopped when Kimbo was crucifixed on the fence. That would have been weak, but not as weak as the stoppage.

Face it, the XEC needed a good fight by Kimbo but did not get it. They could not afford a loss so they avoided it. I wonder how kimbo would have done against either of the two guys that beat Thompson in his last two fights.

The XEC production was fucking ridiculous. I thought I was watching rassling for a second. I was half expecting mean gene to do a couple of interviews. XEC is clearly, bottom shelf.

They have some really solid fighters but tonight did nothing to help them. It was shady as hell the way that fight went down.

Tomorrow night, Faber vs Pulver, I can't wait.

thats just pisses me off, any good takedown artist could own kimbo, that wasnt even that good a fighter, i didnt know that MMA used NBA style officiating, total BS

Spoon, you need to get on the horn with Dana White and find out what he thought of this shit. The commentators spent half the night talking about XEC's prime competitor (UFC), and trying to sell MMA as blood sport, the exact image that White is trying to get a way from.

Tonight Kimbo proved what I think we all knew, street fighting and MMA are not the same thing.

Rack that take. Pork chop operation tonight.

Bottom line, UFC needs to get off Spike and on the networks somehow.

Casual fans like me aren't going to lop down $50 every 3-4 weeks for a PPV, but will watch free telecasts on Sat nights every time.

MMA had a chance to make a ton of new fans tonight and swung and missed with those bull shit stoppages and the fixed Kimbo fight. Carano and Slice are still big draws that will pull people back, so Elite really has to learn from their mistakes quick and get their shit together for the next telecast on CBS.

The way the fighters were introduced and walked to the ring was like watching WWE. They need to get rid of the dancers, too much rasslin' like crap going on. I guess if they want to bring in new fans, they had to do something different. The women's fight was the most exciting of the night. How about that knot on that chick's face?

The UFC has been working on a few TV deals is close to getting one from what I have heard/read. I think Elite's show will only help them as their product is 100 times better in the UFC.
I'm sure Dana White is laughing his ass off and rightfully so.

Never paid for or watched an event before.

If the goal was to introduce folks to the sport and the quality of athleticism involved, as well as the appeal of some blood pooling up, it was a success. I want to see more.

But before I do I want to make sure I ain't being played by some bogus fight created and officiated to advance the organizaton.

Agree with mswerb. The chick fight was more entertaining and competitive than the other two bouts I saw afterward. Coincidentally, it was the only one that ran it's course and was legitimtely stopped when it should have been.

Peek,

If you liked that then you need to set your DVR to record UFC unleashed, every episode, and the Ultimate Fighter reality show on Spike. The level of competition is not even comparable.

The only guys that we saw on the Elite fight card that would survive in the UFC is probably the Lawler and Smith. The rest of them were straight garbage. I have stopped paying 50.00 for the pay per views because I just can't justify it (I would rather play 18 with the 50.00), but that doesn't mean that I don't wish that I could get them. If I had 4 buddies that would come and kick in 10.00 each, I would get every event.

Sopcast.com
You can find the pay per views on there usually.
Quality is so-so but it's free

To be honest, this year's Ultimate Fighter show is average as best.
There is some suspect talent of there, guys who train with UFC guys or at big name gyms and got on that way.
