HBO clearly has the better card but all 4 fights should be good.

HBO:
Cotto vs Gomez
Cintron vs Margarito (Fight of the Year canidate)

Showtime:
Chad Dawson vs Glen Johnson
Antonio Tarver vs Clinton Woods.

I would make sure I tuned in to HBO tonight at 10pm.
Should be a great night for boxing.

Preview coming soon.

Don't be delaying with that preview sir.
Cintron is a 3-1 dog and Gomez is a bigger dog than that. Wanna see how someone who knows the sport feels as opposed to the mopes who bet it.

Antonio Margarito -303 Draw +2000 Kermit Cintron +250

I expect Cotto to win rather easily unless Gomez can catch him early which I doubt will happen. Cotto has a HUGE power advantage and has fought much better opposition.
10 bucks on Gomez wouldn't hurt however.
Gomez by KO-TKO-DQ at 10-1 isn't bad, IF he wins, chances are it won't be a decision.

I like Cintron as far as the betting goes. My boy Teddy Atlas said he'll win. I expect that to be a slugfest. Cintron has a lot to prove.
I also like the Cintron by KO-TKO-DQ at 7-2.
I am PUMPED for this one.

Thank you for the feedback and fr the info in the article itself. Cintron is now up to 3.5 to 1 so the value is even better than a couple hours ago. Fade the public. I want that on my tombstone. :eek

I was suprised to see Cintron +350 as well. Margarito/Cintron should be a great fight. Margarito is fun to watch, Cintron has a lot to prove. Winner of this one becomes really the #3 welterweight behind Floyd and Cotto in my eyes. I expect an action packed and tight fight that goes to the cards.

For Cotto, tonight will be an interesting test. Last five fights (Malignaggi, Quintana, Urkal, Judah, Sugar Shane) have all been step up fights ... this is his first chance to overlook someone, like Paul Williams did with Quintana.

I expect Cotto to dominate. Great work ethic, heart of the lion. Lets hope we see some of the signature Cotto bady shots like the one in the Fight Drs sig line.

If you saw Margarito vs Cintron the first time you know why the number is as high as it is.

Cotto was -800 at 10am today and now he's -1500
Gomez is plus 900
I put 15 on Gomez for shits and giggles.

Be interesting to get a little clarity in the light heavyweight division tonight on Showtime as well.

I got Woods and Dawson winning, effectively ending the careers of Tarver and Johnson.

Light heavy is a mess though. Hopkins and Calzaghe on the verge of retirement. Roy Jones should have 5 years ago. Dawson the only young intriguing potential star in the division.

Be interesting to see if any of the young talent at super middle makes the move up. Kessler, Lacy, Green, Mundine, Bika.

Glen Johnson looks about 60 years old.

Gritty vet though. Will be an interesting test for Dawson.

Great action. Dawson has quick, powerful hands. Defense and technique is sloppy though.

Wow ... Johnson hurt him there. Hes got that Joe Frazier/Joe Calzaghe relentless, always moving toward his opponent style ... jsut wears dudes down.

Great fight. Dawson seizes the momentum, then gets stung in the 10th. Amazing job hanging on, thought he was done there.

Very good fight. I had it 114-114 on my card.

Regardless, big win, gutty win for Dawson.

Draw at best for Dawson.

I agree. Classic rant from Johnson after the fight. I feel for the guy.

This Margarito/Cintron scrap should be a good one. A helluva lot on the line for both guys. Most notably, a massive pay day against Cotto in the fall.

Margarito's been complaining his whole career (rightfully so) that big fighters have been dodging him. Now its all right there in front of him. Can he seize the moment? Or will Cintron get his revenge?

Love boxing.

Margarito owns him and just made him quit again.
Margarito is a stud.

Fuckin Margarito

Relentless. Very impressive. Imposed his will on a clearly mentally weaker Cintron.

Gimme Margarito/Cotto in July, the winner vs Floyd in November.

Thats what we need to see.

Cotto is going to fight Mayorga for some reason if he wins tonight.
They have is listed on a few sites already as a done deal.

I would truly love to see Margarito vs Cotto. Both guys are phenominal body punchers with awesome chins and relentless attacks.

I love body shot KOs. That was vicious by Margarito.

Mayorga?? If you're a guy like Cotto or Pavlik, someone thats taken step up fight after step up fight, I got absolutely no problem with these guys fighting an Alfonso Gomez or a Gary Lockett.

But not two in a row.

Assuming Cotto takes care of bidness tonight, we gotta see Cotto/Margarito in '08.

It's the fight Cotto's gotta take. Hes already dismantled Quintana, Judah, and Sugar Shane. Paul Williams is out of the picture for at least a fight or two. Floyd is busy spending his money and wrestling, with no apparent desire to come back till '09.

Gotta happen.

Lampley just said ... looks apparent, July 26 ... MARGARITO/COTTO.

That will be an excellent fight.

Cotto might be the best fighter in the world.

http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hu ... &cat=boxer

From Yahoo:

Saturday, July 19 - at TBD, United States - 12 rounds,
WBA welterweight title: Miguel Cotto (31-0, 25 KOs)
vs. Ricardo Mayorga (29-6-1, 23 KOs).

After that performance by Margarito, his history of being passed over ... I say Cotto takes that fight. He has to. No one wants to see him beat Mayorgas ass, delay the inevitable till the fall.

I'd love to see Cotto and Margarito but who knows?
I believe both Cotto and Mayorga are promoted by Top Rank which would be an easy thing for Arum to put together.
That fight makes zero sense as far as boxing is concerned.

Woulda been one thing if Margarito would have split decisioned Citron. Or if Gomez would have offered any resistance.

Cotto would take a lot of heat if he fought Mayorga. Given what happened tonight, I can't see him taking any fight but Margarito next.

Can't argue that. Been better the last 4-5 years or so though. Still think Cotto takes the Margarito fight.

Would give us something to look forward to this summer. Hope it happens.

I think Cotto would fight anyone but he's too humble for his own good. Arum calls the shots and might give him an easy fight and then see if he can score Mayweather after he beats Oscar again.
He'll beat Mayorga is June, hope for a Jan or Feb fight with Mayweather, if that doesn't happen, then he faces Margarito in 2009.

Margarito is as tough as they come... scary fighter.

Love those body shot KO endings!

The Cotto/Margarito fight needs to happen in July. Cotto fought in a mismatched cakewalk tonight, if his next fight is against anyone but Margarito, everyone loses.
